I was there on my own in the mid 90s while some of this was going on . I was alone in a tiny cabin. I was glad to get on a plane and come home to Australia. I could hear gunfire from where I slept. At times I must admit I was quite scared.

Harold is a scapegoat - point blank period. Land issues in Guadalcanal can be traced back to the demise of the traditional powers or chiefly systems. Too many Guadalcanal tribesmen are selling lands left and right - most of whom do not have primary rights. Its still an ongoing issue because of this. Also, some of the people behind the scenes who cause the strife amongst the Guadalcanal people are still in power in Solomon Islands. So not much can be done about resolving this since the same sentiments is still alive and well.

So, to resolve this issue, illegal settlements in Guadalcanal must be brought to ground. Let alone the land of Guadalcanal to control by its indigenous people.

How is this unlucky failed state now? Did Australian intervention do any good? Certainly the more the Christianity the more the misery, oppression of women, bronze age fairy tales replete with eye for eye (in) justice. D.A. NYC

@David Anderson - This isn’t or rather, wasn’t, a religious war. We’ve also seen the wonders of Atheism whereby Communists did not allow Christianity or any form of religion to exist. Instead, citizens’ Rights came from the State (as opposed to God-given rights such as were scribed in the form of a Constitution). How do I know this?? Because I was born and raised in one such Communist country and only was able to obtain Religious Asylum as a result of the persecution my family endured by Atheist Communists. My father was beaten to an inch of his life for 3 days straight when they discovered a Bible in our house. So, let me just say that in my opinion, it’s not Christianity that’s evil - it’s people. And as a testament of the good that Christianity can do, just look at the country founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs, that is, America 🇺🇸. And no, I’m not a devout Christian, but am only expressing my thoughts here based on my lived experience.
