In Ren's interview with (The Charismatic voice) he does all the studio/sound engineering work for the band (TBP), his collabs and himself. He explains the painful, tedious and long process of cleaning up all their live videos. He will take and break down each separate note and clip it or extend it in case the microphone picked up to loud on the drums and to quiet on one of the guitars or voices. He balances it all out to sound good, still live but cleaned up. This is why this man needs no record label, he can do everything himself. They can offer him nothing. But if he wants to put out music more frequently, he will have to start delegating some of his work out. He has his camera guys, his assistant and his PR women. He will have to hire more people to do some of the other work. His fans are spoiled now and want more of his music. Some of us are not reactors, so we have heard (many times) every scrap of music Ren has done.

Wow! Yes, he definitely needs to get some help... as he's become more famous, he won't be able to do it all, or it will come at the cost of his health. Even healthy people can't live in stress all the time. It's not good for you.

Just for the record, no pun intended, the only way an artist is considered a "signed artist", is if they're signed by one of the "big three" labels, Universal Music Group, Sony or Warner Music, all others, whether they have a label or not, are considered "Indie artists", or Independent, officially by the music industry. There are hundreds of record labels from... almost as big as one of the big 3, in fact some work under the umbrella of one of the big 3 sort of as a minor league of sorts, all the way down to independent labels that might just have one or two artists, or artists that start their own label and bring other artists on they dig. Ren did release Sick Boi with a label "The Other Songs", an independent label that's part of a conglomerate of independent labels from different countries called "Blended". Their goal is to provide smaller independent artist with a means to get their music heard by the world, while not costing them too much, and the artists being able to retain 100% creative control when making the music and 100% of ownership after the music is released, it's a pretty cool deal! That's not to take away from the massive amounts of work Ren has done himself as an artist, or the care he takes with each note that you spoke of. Here's the links to both those labels if ya want to check them out............. ✌💚 www.theothersongs.com www.theothersongs.com/blended

The original version did have a chorus and verse sung in French And when Ren sings at the end in his upper register was sung by a female in the original . This rooftop location was accessed out of Gorans bedroom window and was also used for the opening scene of the video murderer whe Ren was punching the punch bag and climbed through the window . The roof also features in the middle of the video for Losing It when Ren was sitting at the end of the roof holding a Go pro on an extension pole Rapping tripple time

@@MrsRealistic ....Me too, a lot of people, myself included at first, didn't even consider the possibility, because like you said, it doesn't look like your typically shaped ukulele. Second, this may be my American bias showing, but when I think ukulele I think of one of two things...either some country folk in a rural area, playing some sort of folk music or a jug band with spoons and a washboard, or either a street musician down on Bourbon St. in Nawlins...lol. When I see a well dressed, handsome French gentlemen, drinking a little wine, and killing it on a tiny guitar with his buddies, I do NOT think....Oh a ukulele!! I honestly thought it was a mandolin at first, but the give away is mandolin's have 8 strings, ukulele 4.

I help take care of a 79-year-old disabled woman, to whom I introduced some of Ren's and The Big Push's music--selectively choosing songs I thought she'd like. I played her Bongo Bong, Swan Song, Praise You and Why My Woman (which has a '50's doo-wop vibe). Not only did she like them, but she asked me to play them repeatedly. So I obliged, lol. Her favorite is Bongo Bong, which she refers to as "the monkey song." Great reaction, btw! Romain is playing the sopran Mandolin ...it is an 17th century italian instrument from the lute family, the bigger versions with lower register are called "Mandola"...the name is refering to the form of the corpus which has the shape of an "almond" = "mandorla" in Italian

  • @MrsRealistic

@@MrsRealistic An Ukelele has the curved corpus shape of a guitar but in small size and a Mandolin´s corpus is "oval" shaped = "almond shaped" ...just look at the shape of Romain´s instrument. Dispite that an Ukele has a different sound anyway although it has the same register than like a sopran Mandolin and that is caused by the different corpus shapes those 2 have . A classic Mandolin has 4 strings g-d-a-e but there is also a version with 6 strings adding = h string + another but lower g string - called = "portuguese Half-round Mandolin" but that isn´t at the sopran register but lower and therefore a slight bigger sized instrument almost as big as like the in my previous comment mentioned "Mandola" which also has just 4 strings. I will just add that there are 2 different designs for Mandolins = either with a round backside beginning right from the front plate = "the classic lute design" - and the socalled "violine design" = where the backside is not directly connected with the frontplate and therefore by far not that rounded because there is a 45 degree plate between frontplate and the backside and such a "violine design Mandolin" is played by Romain.

@@MrsRealistic I looked up the pinnaple ukelele...it is quite similar to a sopran mandolin..but the strings are g-c-e-a tuned and the strain of the strings is way softer than the strain of mandolin strings But from the looks it is quite similar/quite the same to a violin design Mandolin so it is possible that Romain played that instead. I admit I didn´t know the pinnaple ukelele (original name is actually "Kamaka") until I looked it up right now.. I just knew the avarage one which is guitar shaped. And during my research I also came across about some comments of people who couldn´t decide if they should take a Kamaka or a sopran Mandolin..which is for me an indicator that those 2 have to be in sound extremely similiar instruments anyway besides their different string tuning and the different strain on the strings.

@MrsRealistic ...It wasn't in a cool town like Brighten, U.K. or even a cool big city in the U.S., it was a smaller town barely in the suburbs, almost in the sticks/farmland, about half hour Southwest of the Lou (St. Louis). But I was fortunate enough to rent a place that was a 2-1/2 story 120 year old building that was crammed in between a bunch of other buildings on the towns main street, in my youth. The main floor was a restaurant/bar, then the upstairs and attic (converted to bedroom) was our apartment. It used to be a bar/saloon with our version of the infamous Madam Lulu White and her lovely ladies running a business upstairs in the late 1800s, if you know what I mean...lol. I digress though, anyway, the building between mine and the building one over from me, was only a one story business, so my apartment and the one on the other side of the business had French doors that opened to that rooftop!! Not quite as big as the one in this video, but big enough for a couple BBQ pits, 6-8 patio chairs and table, and had a small parapet wall so you wouldn't fall down to the street if you've had too much vino or cold brews 🫨😂 I was just out of a 2yr college program, and bartending to put myself through paramedic school and the firefighter academy, one of my roommates and the couple that rented the apartment on the other side of our roof, all worked at the same restaurant/bar that I did (not the one we lived above), so we would spend many an evening chatting and playing or listening to music up there, or hosting after work get togethers. Plus the town had a lot of festival type events during the summer months, where they'd close main street and have live music and what not. Soooooooooooooo many fond memories!!! OMG, that seems like a lifetime ago, It really does, my kids are out on their own and wonderful in so many ways, but are also spoiled little shits at times, and don't call or visit ever, My son's mom passed years ago, and my ex wife is my best friend and her little clever ass moved to Belize full time when covid hit. So I feel ya on not having any friends to hang with anymore, I'm in a boring tiny ranch house. But I try not to complain, there are soooo many in the world suffering that would kill to sleep in my garage, much less have a home. OMG again, I'm soooooo sorry I rambled, too much coffee too early, I'm sitting here and tearing up, having just took a stroll down memory lane on you're dime. sorry about that, feel free to send me a bill for the therapy session. 😂 Have a great weekend!! ✌️💚

I thought that at first too but a mandolin has 8 strings. I found out it's a ukulele! 😊👍

This is the rooftop that you can access from an apartment the three of them rented during covid lockdowns (Gorran or Romain might have been living there already, not 💯on that, but all three lived there for about a year) so they didn't have to get tested every time they wanted to practice. It's also the same rooftop seen in the beginning of the "Murderer" video, where Ren is hitting the heavy bag.
