Harmonics for Arc Furnace Facilities

Ғылым және технология

Arc furnace installations are notorious for having some of the most unconventional power quality problems in any application. Reactive power compensation is extremely important for many reasons in this kind of facilities, but it can also be a more complex affair than installing traditional notch filters because of the uncharacteristic harmonics present due to the arc furnace itself.
Using EasyPower, we will learn how a C-type filter works, what its purpose is and a simplified approach on how to correctly size a C/type filter’s components.

Well explained. And the video of the arc furnace was appreaciated. Actually better than the video that was published today by ETAP on 13th of Aug. 2020.

The video was really good. My personal feeling is that if you would have gone a bit deep into how are the even harmonics produced by an Arc furnace then it would have been more better. Moreover, you could also have mentioned the role of damping resistor in C-type because you started with the fact that notch filter only filters one particular frequency. So then it should be made clear that how is c-type advantageous in that case from notch filter. But as a whole really good job... keep posting...
