Girl power. Yawn. A crazy psychologist who for some reason can take out dozens of armed men and defeat men twice her size in physical combat. Why? Did she take some grueling combat training? Did she get bit by a radioactive wolverine or something? Nope. They just decided the Joker's crazy girlfriend is super-human for some reason. Oh yeah, it's because she has a vagina. That's literally it. That's why they wrote Quinn this way. It's so dumb.

There are 4 really good moments in Suicide Squad that make the movie for me. 1. The first few minutes with the subversion. How seriously it's taken before cutting to the B team and "People Who Died." 2. The scene of Ratcatcher talking to his daughter about rats. 3. Anything King Shark says 4. This scene.

  • @domgeek5632

I think other good scenes are Ratism. The Peacemaker vs Rick Flag scene. Thinker exposing America and telling Flag and Ratcatcher 2 the truth of Starro. The bar scene for sure. Cleo becoming friends with Nanaue. "Hey" scene with the rain. King Shark making "new friends". The Squad turn back to fight. Bloodsport with his kid. Harley's speech. Polka-Dot Man's fucked up origin and anytime he imagines his mother.

@@Ella-qe4ni well here's the thing. Joker isn't important to the Suicide Squad. At all. Suicide Squad is about a bunch of C and D list villains doing dirty shit for the government which challenges the morality of everyone and shows more gray then black or white. That's what the first movie lacked. And again. The first movie has made everyone think Joker is some key figure in Suicide Squad. Joker to the Squad. He's nothing. Nothing but a potential target. Same with Harley. She's only been a member since 2011. That's nothing compared to Deadshot or Boomerang. And she's gain such a status as anti hero and shit. It's shocking she's even riding with them. So Harley and Joker. Never mattered to the Squad. And in Joker's case. Never will. Because he's not a member. But a target they'll take care of in like an hour.

A few facts about Harley Quinn: -she was a board certified psychologist specializing in the criminally insane -she got her education on a full scholarship because she is a legitimate genius -she is an olympic level gymnast -she is physically immune to almost every toxin or chemical (thanks to Ivy) -she has meta-human level strength, speed, and reflexes (again, thanks Ivy) -She's gone toe-to-toe with the goddamn Batman on a nightly fucking basis -She developed the skill of ignoring pain entirely after years of torture enduced conditioning -She's master escape artist who has some of the highest containment requirements in all of Belle Reve -She possesses detective skills that are nearly on-par with the Batman -She can effectively wield any weapon imaginable, practical or improvised, in ways that would make John Wick blush -She can drive/pilot every vehicle she has ever seen and even the ones she hasn't -By virtue of her madness, she employs a combat style that is basically unreadable and near impossible to defend against *_These guys didn't stand a fucking chance._*

No, the police station scene is what it is: Harley taking down cops armed with a grenade launcher, but instead of grenades it launches glitter bombs, smoke bombs & beanbags. It's her fun gun for a reason, that's her style, just like Joker using laughter smoke for a terrorist assault. This scene is different because you can see she's having a meltdown. She's serious the whole scene, the lyrics of the song playing talk about feeling sad and lonely & she's clearly reminiscing her relationship with joker, that's what sets the tone for her getting into her own head & censoring the blood for herself, putting flowers instead because she's trynna hold back her meltdown & go into her happy place (which is flower-y feminine violence)

The first couple of seconds of this kind of scare me. Throughout the whole movie, Harley is fun. She’s laughing while shooting a bazooka and being crazy. But then here, she’s dead serious. Her eyes go straight through the camera and then flick over to the guy in front of her. And then she snaps his neck with no emotion on her face and no mercy whatsoever. It’s sort of a subtle way to show that Harley’s psychopathy runs darker than she gets credit for.

I fully expected Flag and the others to have to rescue her, just because that's what we'd gotten used to in film so many times when it comes to feminine characters, but then we're reminded pretty brutally that she's an absolute fucking badass who can fully handle herself and never needed any help to begin with. I feel like this scene is for people who were questioning why Harley is on a team of super powered villains considering she's technically a normal person. It's like, "oh, this is why she's here." The flowers and birds are also a MUCH better way of portraying why the violence is so alluring for Harley. In Suicide Squad, it was just neon colors and flashing lights with crappy hip hop music to try and make it seem "cool." Here it actually makes sense with Harley's childlike mind. Like, "oh wait, this actually looks fun."

While this scene is absolutely fantastic, truly eliciting the "shock and awe" response one would desire to have from such a sequence, there is no blood on Harley's javelin. Perhaps that's intentional, like there being no blood on Wolverine's claws, but it is strange and noticeable when one zeroes in on the scene. Realistically, it's bottom end would be somewhat drenched and dripping with blood. Harley could then wipe the blood off on her red dress before going outside. Just something to ponder regarding this scene.

I was surprised to find a lot of Harley Quinn fans disliked this scene, but in my opinion this is the most badass, fun, and accurate to the character action sequence I've ever seen. She was literally just used as a sex symbol and had no interesting character development in Suicide Squad 2016, but this truly felt like Margot mastered the persona and insanity of Harleen Quinzel from the comics. And for those who complained about the cartoony flowers and birds as she was killing people... yeah this is kind of what I had in mind for what goes down in Harley's brain as she is committing heinous acts in most media. There's a reason she was able to pull off everything so flawlessly here- she learned from the clown prince of crime. She's a heavily damaged individual- a genius psychiatrist and genuinely cares about individuals she sees good in- but she's delusional to an extreme extent, brought about mainly from the abuse and torment she suffered under the Joker's mental manipulation

This was the scene where I realised how weak the previous standalone Harley Quinn movie was, at least in terms of the fight scenes. All of Harley's blows in 'Birds Of Prey' were projected, overly choreographed to the point where you could see where the punches were going to land. Meanwhile in this scene, she looks truly unpredictable, and legitimately deadly. This is how a supervillain should move and act.

Birds of prey and this movie are really good in showing harleys character. DC movies work surprisingly well as adult movies instead of PG 13. James gunn is a really good director and seeing taika in the movie is really hilarious but his lines are so meaningful. A 9/10 because i wanted see a actual fight with bloodsport and peacemaker at the end but it does make sense because both of them are marks men.

That's not really surprising, most of their comics are incredibly dark.
