    Which Low Rider S would you all choose, the Dyna or Softail?

    Dyna all day, softails are slow with about zero lean angle. Any dyna will run circles around any softail any day, unless they've changed the geometry of the newer softails.

    @@WolfinWolvesClothing713 Uh... yes they changed the geometry of the newer softails. New softails have more lean angle, better suspenion, and engine than the old softails and dynas. Block has a whooole bunch of videos on the new softails. For me Hands down, Softail the whole way. Better frame, engine, lean angles, and handling, with lower weight.

    The Dyna had a special quality to it that the Soft tail doesn't have. The Soft tail LRS just doesn't have the feel of a special edition bike. Its not really any different than a fat Bob 114, aside from the visual queues.

    The softail. I like both but the inverted front forks, full rear fender, plus the heat off of the engine has me going 114. Visual appeal wise I like the dyna lines better just subtract the mag color.

Lol Got into an old sportster 1200 custom for super cheap and LOVING it... buuuuut ofcourse it's already time to upgrade. Been looking into both these bikes... ...and this video was perfect. I live in canada... so a lil cooler weather over here... ...so I don't think i'll mind the heat... actually comes in handy at night when our temps drop... think im going with the dyna and gonna try to build it similar to your giveaway bike in this video. • @FranBunnyFFXII

    Just be aware for this comparison, that the Dyna LRS has a CVO built engine, it's essentially a Stage 3 engine maxed out from the factory. Where as Blocks Softail LRS has an untuned "stage 1" without the Kn Filter upgrade, and an poor exhaust choice for it. The dyna has the advantage of a fully built up engine with a proper exhaust. You're also starting the pulls from 3000RPM which is where the Softail M8 is starting to drop off in power, but the Dyna LRS's CVO type engine has a cam that works better a higher RPM. Softail is gonna be faster from a dead stop, but since you guys are already rolling, that 110Twincam engine has a lot more advantages.

I want to thank you because I searched How to Ride a motorcycle & you came up. I watched your videos. & learned alot & from Ms Blockhead. Your videos are great& in Orlando! So you know the roads -- excuse me NASTY drivers! lol. Your videos are great! I learned alot off them. When I get a little drive under my butt (& if I pass the riding tomorrow). Dropped the bike & kept stalling it due to gear issue (with me). But I'd like to meet the two of you! I think that would be awesome.

    I agree about the mid mounted controls on the new Softail. I’m 5’7” with a 30” inseam, and my FXST felt a little cramped with the stock seat; that surprised me. Never rode the Dyna, but always wanted one. My bike handles great - can’t complain, but the Dyna might be cooler because it still has that Harley rumble; the M8 is dead smooth. Guess I would pick the new one for the same reason I bought one, I had never had a new Harley, and that was a goal of mine.

    even if I could afford a new Harley I'd probably still have my 2002 FXDWG, I love her character and yes she may be underpowered only being an 88, but my previous bike was a fully de-restricted ZX14R So I know what fast is. I've always wanted a Harley since I started to read Easyriders and Heavy Duty when I was around 10 y.o. then later an Australian magazine called Live to Ride. So I finally got my own and she is awesome and I have plans for her! I've always been partial to old classics whether they be cars or bikes, something you can usually fix yourself if it breaks down. If I had the time and patience I'd have a Shovelhead but I want to spend more time riding than being in the garage......lol.

    Awesome video! Looks like you guys had an absolute blast making it and ripping around. As you mentioned, definitely not an apples to apples comparison as far as performance mods go between the two bikes. The M8’s factory tune runs really lean. Add an exhaust and it’s usually a lot worse. They also do not like short exhaust, especially 2-2. Which you have on the LRS. Plus, like you said the M8 LRS already has the stage 1 heavy breather intake. Coupled with the crappy stock tune and the exhaust that’s killing your torque, your M8 LRS has a lot of disadvantages over the 110 Screamin Eagle TC on the Dyna LRS. Even if you didn’t change your exhaust and just got a professional tune done on the M8 you’d be closing that gap by quite a bit.

    Traded my twin in for a 114 stage I. Big difference in terms of pull , acceleration engine heat and suspension. My old twin was good and had same brand exhaust rhineharts but with everything else that old bike had no problem stopping but the new bike with the ABS on it stops well and is very good controlled when stopping. I can stop at a shorter distance with the new bike that's at least 200 lbs more. Was wondering before y'all swapped what that noise was. When you said something about the rev limiter the lightbulb went on.

    Also, you have to remember that the Dyna Low Rider has the Screaming Eagle heads...? Where as the Softail 114 does not. So, if you did a cam, intake, exhaust, Screamin Eagle M8 heads, the Softail becomes a fire breathin monster. Just more to factor into your comparison. I hope to do the Screamin Eagle M8 heads and the Horse Power INC fuel injection this winter..

    Twin Cam on that bike ain’t no joke. I rode a Softail lowrider S with a 107 m8, then rode a 2015 streetglide with 103 TC. The 103 felt so much torqued over the m8, also quicker. The m8 shook bad under hard acceleration WOT.

    The most important element is and always be the rider itself ! I like the vibrations of the twin cam myself at idle . Need to see whats going on behind you give the throttle a quick hit vibrations smooth out . Simple . I lived in Orlando F.l. and I had at that time a 2001 Super Glide, yeah it ran hot at times but not that hot were it would do damage to the motor . The oil did it's job . Dame I loved that 01 Super Glide. I liked the 01 S.G. more then my 04 S.G. the 01 S.G. felt more torquey then the 04 S.G. My observation between the two . Everything is about preference at this point I rather save money at this point. I gave Harley Davidson enough already .....

    I have the 2020 Low Rider S. S&S 475 cam, S&S intake, Trask Assault 2 into 1 exhaust, tune = thing MOOOOVES. I LOVE the sound and look of the 2 into 2 exhaust, but even a shorter 2 into 1 usually out performs them..

    Hey Blockhead I am still missing one video. The series of video you made how to ride a bike connected me to your channel, I was wondering if you could make one last video about what comes next after driving like parking the bike, reversing, moving around while bike is still off. Do even bikes have parking brake?

  • @domschwarz502

    @domschwarz502

    No, they don't. If you want to park at a slope (which is generally not recommended) you have to park it in gear to prevent it from rolling.
