This is an Harley Benton SC-550 1 made in Vietnam. It was discontinued and replaced by the SC-550 2 made in Indonesia.
Version 1 and version 2 are not similar at all.
Differences: production location, slighly different body shape, fretboard material, frets, humbuckers
I had both version and kept the SC-550 1. The feeling how it sound and play was better in my opinion. The manufacturing quality instead was on the SC-550 2 better. (binding and paint job, dot marks in binding correct centered).
I am also not an fan of the blacksmith stainless steel frets. I had them on different Harley Bentons: CST, SC-550 2, SC DLX and none of those convinced me about the "advantages of stainless steel frets"
If you like TOOL and Adam Jones Les Paul Silver Burst, this could be an affordable option to get at least the style and a moding platform.

How would you compare a 550 to a 450plus? is there a lot of difference in quality and feel?

550 series 1 beside the colors was quite equal to 450plus, only the neck on 550 1 was slimmer and without pickguard and no coil split option. 550 series 2 (today available) has different pickups and stainless steel frets. They sounding fatter compared to 450plus, but I still prefer 550 series 1 or the 450plus. The play feeling with this stainless steel frets is a little different, to me they feel bigger/higher.
