No sharp fretends on mine and a tight neckpocket, really no issues with mine, did take it to my luthier for a good first setup and he also didn't find any issues, love it.

@@basstelkellerin use for about a month now, took it with me on my vacation and I'm still sold on this model, prefer it over the Sire U5 I send back, only change I will make is a tad heavier strings when a string change is neccesary for GHS Boomers 50-107.

I’ve just had a quick look on Thomann’s website and it looks like every colour-way is out of stock for ‘several months’. Maybe getting the customer to be the quality control officer wasn’t such a good idea and sliced hands didn’t go down too well? An extra few quid/euros/dollars on the price tag to pay for problems to be sorted BEFORE they fly out the door will probably do more for their reputation. Come on Thomann.

Hey Tobi, thank you for the review, you're one of the only few so far that made a video about these new series. If you are going to do breakdown of the bass and take one of the tuning machines off, it might be a good idea to look at the hidden part of the tuning plate, there should be some writing inside where it says it's made in Korea by JinHo Music. They're the company that makes all of the Wilkinson stuff, so these tuning machines should hold up pretty good. The tuners are as good as any Gotoh has produced. The reason there might be some play (and varies from machine to machine) could be the tuning post screw isn't tight enough (the big flat-head screw you see in the back of the tuner where the key shaft meets the main post) - so I would recommend tightening it to remove that play.

Thank you for this comment! I‘ll definitely look into these tuners more closely and see if I might need to change my opinion.

Thanks for the review! Totally interested in the comparison of pickups with the Roswell ones (as I got a 1st edition recently)

My Pj-5 string that arrived last week is perfect. fretwork in particular is really good. But that was the exibition item that thomann used to put pictures on their web site, so maybe it is a particular lucky (peeky) one

Not surprising to see QC issues of the new Harley Benton offerings. Definitely a downgrade from it's first run despite giving us a dedicated pickup selector in this second run. Thanks for the solid review!

Thanks for the review! How is the neck dive issue on this bass?

It has a bit of neck dive, but I don’t really notice it when playing the bass.

@@basstelkeller yes, but the pickups look too big and odd placed and the headstock is way too small.
