Harley Benton Enhanced MJ 5MN Milky

Ойындар

Matching fretboard (?🤷‍♀️? ), yes matching FRETBOARD 5 string competitor to Sire, Cort and Fender by Harley Benton (Thomann). How good is it? Can it slap? Well I can't slap, but this maple-ash 70's throwback bass can do other things. With MM pickup in the sweet it also tries to do fender jazz bass sound. How close? Check out the video to find out! 👀 📺

Thank you for all the comments and support! 2020 has really been a disaster and I've stopped onetakereviews as my town was hit by a series of earthquakes in early 2020 + aftershocks until late autumn 2020. Just as a last reminder that 2020 isn't finished yet, we had another pair of earthquakes in late December of 2020. + coronavirus and lockdowns. Working in those conditions was incredibly hard and I could not create quality content for you. But, fear not, 2021. is here, and I will be making more reviews (modded HBs, Sires, etc) for you. That is a promise. Thank you once again for all the love and support! See you soon! 🤗 Igor.

thnx! :) I also had numerous JB-75. two issues i had: -weight (over 4,5kg) -baseball bat profile neck (super thicc precision instead of jazz) pros: -pickups are crazy good! overwound alnicos really grlow like crazy -unbeatable quality for the price -neck is supersoild and stable (had it lying in the car in the cold before the gig, didn't go out of tune)

@@dominikkavur5373 well, setting it up with a lower action was quite tricky, had to adjust the truss rod a few times before i got it right, and the high C string wouldn't go as low as i wanted so i has to file down the bottom part of the bridge saddle of that string. That being said, it's now my best bass!

@@onetakereviews7358 it is true they are super heavy. In my case i am not impressed by the PU. But maybe i got one that is not as good as the others? They sound good, but are kinda weak in volume, and they don't sound at all like my Vintage V74MRJP which is closer to the idea i have of a Jazz Bass. So yeah i am not that impressed with it... but now that the frets have been filed and all, it's super comfy to play.

Interesting toughts about HB MJ-basses. I have 4 string MJ and I agree that build quality is quite amazing for that price. Only dissapointment could be those pickups. It depends what you like, but there is something missing if you want strong Stingray-like humbucker sound. Any suggestions for 4 string musicman style affordable picups? Is there something special for selecting right pickup when this bass is active/passive model? Also it would be nice to see videos about your pickup modifications to these Harley Benton MJ and MP -basses.

Me, I like my MJ-4EB so much, that I added an MJ-5EB. Both in blue. You see, I had promised myself to keep round-wound strings on that 4-string. However, I fancied it with flat-wound strings (like on my other three basses). So I now have Thomastik JB345 on the 5-string. That's my preference. :-) Fun test: I have several magnetic and piëzo pickups from AliExpress. I clamped a piëzo one to the bass (the head...), then blended both this one and the internal ones through a small mixer. Interesting!

It's around 4,5kg. not too heavy, not to light. Pickups are preamp are really hefty, when i removed them and replaced with JJ config, bass became much lighter. Those big pole pickups (J and MM) really have a lot of mass. Also, tuners are massive, and you could save a bit of weight by replacing them. Then again, with a nice strap bass is really comfortable.
