Hardfloor - Acperience 1 (Freebass 383 cover)

Музыка

My adaptation from Hardfloor's classic track Acperience 1.
Freebass FB383 was one of the first synths I ever bought, over 15 years ago. I remember back in the day when I tried to cover some hardfloor tunes and tweaked its knobs for hours. Never got the tunes quite rights but it sure was fun :)
Its been years and it was time to revisit my favourite acid synth jam song. I recorded this song in several takes. All the 303 lines are one long tweak and recorded live from start to finish.
This adaptation is not 100% true to the originals greatness. I didn't manage to replicate the chords even though I got the synth sound pretty close.
Main bassline : SH101
303 arp line : FB-383
303 main line : FB-383
Chord synth : SH01 Gaia
Drums : MB-808 and TR-707
Additional 909 Crash symbals and claps are 909 samples.
Delays and distortion added in Ableton live.
I used Ableton's own Overdrive audio effect on 303 lines.

    Amazing, this took me into a rabbit hole - thanks so much. I came here from listening to Cowgirl on a whim, and ended up searching synth hard techno tunes from the day, headphones on and completely lost in it for hours. What a re-creation! Well done, man

    Wow! A stunning remake of an acid classic...and using the FAT 383 too! I've got one of these and used to use it loads. But it's not been plugged in for over 15 years...until last weekend, The light comes on but I have no idea if any sound will come out. That's the job for this weekend!

    Thanks! Freebass really does sound good. It has that fat full bodied bass sound what you want from analog mono synth. It's definetly not an 303 but it gets the job done :) To be honest.. I didn't use my freebass for maybe 5 years but then one day connected it and fell in love again.

    halvorlillesund The "808" I'm using is scratch build from original TR-808s schematics. Drum machines brain is Midibox that controls sequencer and trigger sound modules.

    This is fantastic. Nice job. I'm trying to figure out the second acid line that comes in on the free bass. I know it's pretty simple but I'm new to 303 programming. It's the one that sounds like the beginning of flow coma.

    Hi, How do you clock your 707 with Ableton?

  • @tiergrinder

    @tiergrinder

    8 жыл бұрын

    I didn't sync my hardware with ableton in this setup. 808 clone works as a master clock because it has rock solid timing. Tr707 is synced to that via midi and TR707's rimshot triggers SH101. SH01 gaias clock is also synced to 808 clones master clock. I used gaias sequencer to control FB383

  • @ingoodmusic

    tiergrinder Clear. Have you ever clocked 707 with any sequencer via MIDI?

  • @DrTune
    @DrTune7 жыл бұрын

    The sh101 bassline isn't quite right, the second note of the loop (on the kick downbeat) should be like a fifth or so lower in pitch, you have it same as the third note. Just sayin' cos it jumped out at me. Pretty great apart from that !!
