My brain is just fried just watching this video. Lol. I always pull for the house, Brad and Kyle and Darren Tang. You guys are my favorite Bowlers on tour
God I love seeing Norm throw his shot along with all these young dudes. It is a great sport where hall of famers are competing against young guns.
Watching that just gave me bowling ptsd…. I’d rather hit myself on the head with a tack hammer for three hours than to ever bowl on that stuff again. Lol Much respect to you guys, hang in there! Just keep making good shots and filling frames, it will turn your way just be ready for it when it does!

Hey Justin, seen you bowl on TV quite a bit while growing up. Always thought you rolled one hell of a ball. Hope all is well, take care!

@@crimsontide1980 thank you, I appreciate that! All is good here. Yeah this brings back a lot of memories, I used to love the grind of tough tournaments like this. I could count on half the field just giving up. Lol It’s a different game these days, so many good young players right now! I bowl 3 games a week and probably bowl 5-6 tournaments a year with my son jerod, really enjoying that part!

@@justinhromek73 Thats awesome and yes you are right, the amount of talented bowlers these days is insane. I never went pro but I bowled all the way from age 6 to about 3 years ago, would usually bowl 4 or 5 leagues at a time and about 5 or 6 tourneys a year. I just started back after a 3 year break from letting an injury heal up,getting old ain't much fun sometimes, plus raising 2 kids doesn't allot for nearly as much time to bowl. Now I'm just bowling one league and practicing maybe 9 games a week. The level of talent these days is amazing, and the amount of revs and power these kids can put on the ball, even the smaller kids, is just unreal! To this day I still watch the PBA events on TV, but I gind myself more often than not watching the older events, especially mid 80s to early 90s between KZread and I have about 30 old VHS tapes loaded down with PBA shows I recorded when I was a kid.Thank you for taking the time to respond back to me, I'm so glad to hear that you've been going great and that you still are actively bowling. Take care, Justin
Love the videos man I’m learning to become a two handed bowler and it’s so much fun
Good bowling Packy! Oil patterns look really tough and good to see you hitting the pocket and having some sucess! Good luck on Day 2 man!
We've all had those tough patterns. Keep grinding it out! Good luck!
Just finished bowling on this pattern and can relate this was tough barely averaged a 188
Before I say this, I’m NOT saying I would’ve scored any better in my day but, we ran into some tough conditions at the ABC tournaments. What I found back then ( being a power player myself ) was you simply couldn’t get a consistent reaction with a high rev rate. I just went with my “ C” game straight up the back of the ball no wrist increased speed just trying to keep it in play. With makeable leaves and catching a double here or there, grinding out 190’s -200’s. Then, if the lanes came around a bit, then increase your rev rate from there. I always enjoyed the tougher patterns that tested my abilities to make adjustments not only with equipment and moving in or out but also hand positioning etc. sure it’s fun to bowl on a carrying contest and averaging in the 230’s but testing your ability to make spares and grind out a decent score was a lot of fun too. Good luck guys!
loves martinez's shot in this video. looked like having the ball slowly transition off the friction seemed way more consistent than the quick read. jake was playing that inbetween the whole time also.
Great content!!
7:27 What a break PACMAN! MURICA! That music is totally the US OPEN ANTHEM. MURICA!!
Keep it up your doing good
It’s crazy watching someone strike once and you think to yourself that he must be bowling good when that’s probably not the case at all but that’s why these guys are the best of the best
I literally bowled on this today! It was so difficult. I could not find a good ball:surface combo!
Just throw it down the middle really hard 😆 rooting for you big guy!
Hey packy hope you are well, good luck boys all of you im rooting for u , but these oil patterns and lanes look bloody tough but hope u get there. Question packy what arsenal do you have this week for these hard lanes?
Awesome content, guys! Packy, need you to up your nose hair game for those closeups, though! :)
HUPE is grinding 💪 . Keeping it just into non split areas if off target. Smooth game goes with the hair.
I'll be bowling on the dragon pattern on saturday... do you have and tips? (I throw one handed)
Good luck in the last round! Hope you make the cut (all of you) !
Job good
Way to go, Packy! Early pattern looked brutally hard... Thank for sharing so many great styles and shots, big guy! Keep it in the pocket!
So how does the plus minus work? Is that like a cut line?
17:08 Patented slap
Of all the shots that you had of Mitch Hupe, I don't think there was one strike. Good job grinding through a tough one.
So this "hard" pattern is probably easier than what I bowled on in the 1970's.... The lane conditoner was a 1963 model with three jets that sprayed an even mist over the wooden lane... No one used more than 1 bowling ball (rubber or plastic), usually for the whole year... There were nights where on a 16 team mens leage the highest triple wasn't a 600.. I'd love to see these pros bowl against each other on those conditions..thanks for the video
A rare Zach Wilkins sighting.
Finally a real pattern.
Rhinoceros is such a cool ball
Good stuff! If u were +20 or more u should feel really good imo, good luck rest the way
What is the oil pattern called, because im in highschool and im pretty sure im using this. My oil pattern i use is called phantom, and my ball also reacts sinilar and my score has shown it. Ive been bowling minus 40 to 50 of my average and it sucks
Shout out the STM hat!!
Oooh… from the first shot, I’m already hurting
Good luck tomorrow!!! Grind it out and stay in the pocket.
love me some wes malott
Ryan Ciminelli's lookin good
Hey Housemtes, here's a great fun game for after the stress of the Opem....FOOTFAULT. Normal gameplay applies. Every 1st shot must score the same as the frame number. Make it and you keep the score, miss it an you have to foot fault it. 2nd ball after successful 1st, go for the spare...Make it & keep the score, miss it & foot faulr ir. 2nd ball after miss 1st, try again...Make it & keep the score, miss it & foot fault it. Can't wait to see a video of this.
What does it mean when you say +/-? Is that in comparison to the leader or the overall average?

+/- the base score of 200

plus and minus relative to a score of 200... for example 210 would be +10

@@jameswarlick2890 so is it their average or total pinfall? If you shot 5 games would +30 be 1030 or 1150?

@@whazam74 Total pinfall, so 1030 in your example. On the video at 13:29 Packy is at +43, averaging 210.75 after 4 games of C-Squad, total pins would be 843.
Hi enjoy the videos! Could you explain how the scoring works with the - + next to the average scores? Thanks in advance 👍

+ means pins over 200 avg & vice versa
If it wasn't for the name on the shirt, I wouldn't have realized Kyle Troup was in the video. He didn't have his fro.
Hi Packy do you know why fellow house member Nick Pate isnt bowling US Open?
I wonder.. how long before the strip in the middle was a non-factor? Also.. I'm sure they figure out "ok.. what length do we need to have it so that if they squirt it a hair right it's 2-4-8-10 time.."
power torq gettin some love! IMO Norm Duke is the GOAT.
4:09....Did you say find a way 'not' to split??? 🤔
..pupils on fleek lmao ..
Funny how Zac Tacketts style literally almost the exact same as E.J. Almost identical.
My solution: Brunswick Black Ice Zone (Pearl) and keep it in the oil. That is all I can do when it is leaving crazy stuff like this!
You should try to purposely go for Brooklyn on lanes that keep splitting
why no one playing straight down the 1st or 2nd arrow like Walter Ray?
I see the Tackett doesn't fall far from the tree
would love to bowl this one day
what do you mean? norm said it was easy :) haha
What were you on in the intro 😭
Day one oil pattern literally looks like its giving the players the finger. Its Packy, automatic thumbs up, trust your process it is going to pay off for you.
packy you have some beautiful eyes my man
Is Zac Tackett A.J 's brother ?
226 average for the day leader (+209, if my Calc is right?) Seems some people had it figured out
Everytime I see Ryan Ciminelli I think of that episode of Family Guy, where Quagmire discovers internet porn 🤣🤣🤣 and then you see one of his arms is jacked and like 10 times the size of the other
Eyes hurt after watching this...that blurry focus struggle
When Darren Tang is missing like that, it’s a tough pattern.

duuuuuuuukkkeee I did not think I would see lefties inside 4th arrow. Were you in that silly power torq for a while?

Pdw, said he would bowl Major events like Open, TOC.
That pattern looked rough. If it wasn't dead pocket it was either way light, or way too much headpin.
If you get a chance, give Michael Moore some love on this channel. I used to take lessons from him in Orlando. Great guy, great bowler.
Thought I'd mention how uncomfortable this was to watch, but everyone has already said it for me. Phantom break point, ugh. In the 90's and early 2000's I was a lane man and was bloody good at it too. Back in the 3 unit rule days with dinosaur equipment, shims, even a bug sprayer to bump up the heads. when the boss wanted big scores, but don't get busted thats what he got. the ABC tried to nail me so bad, 10 out of 12 spot checks would be us. Never had a bad test or a hi score tossed out, but Dennis the ABC cop would show up twice a week sometimes. Half a dozen centers in the region had never been checked in 5 or 6 years but i got 2 visits in 3 days once. I enjoyed putting a super challenging condition like this out every so often. Keep the guys honest. Not a stupid unplayable shot, but very different. Move them in or make them go slow straight up the boards. Some guys would whine and cry or even make direct threats. On those nights and I learned (the hard way) to park my car down the street at Wal-mart or wherever. But most of the better players would just give me a look and figure it out. Those guys could travel anywhere and do well because they could figure out strange shots in strange places and adapt, quickly. Then I got headhunted by an automotive manufacturing company and quit to go make some real $$$. Everybody was sad and the center had finally upgrade their lane equipment (finally). helped a bit but...
imagine being a 2 handed lefty and not winning all the time. It doesn't get more easy mode then that! LOL j/k packy
they just trying to get into your head, dont let them win.
Me: How much room do you have? Answer: Yes....
EJ Tackett has a brother???
omg the lanes look fucking TOUGH...this is crazy
So your saying shooting 800 is next to impossible, lol
pretty much everyone is playing the pattern wrong, when its hard and flat,go as straight as you can with minimal hook.
Where's Nick?

Does anyone else find the music annoying or is it just me? Would be better if we could hear the pin actions! Great content nevertheless
This puts a smile to my face it proves they rely all on the ball not the actual point of bowling
2 handed should be illegal/punishable by law
10:36... Duke of Edinburgh.... no... thats the DUKE OF FINESSE. The touch on that man is unmatched.
Everyone seems to be fighting against these patterns!! I think I have seen as many Brooklyns as I have "good" strikes so far... Man, I just noticed Via's picture up above Lane 26 there.... You would think they would have allowed him to drop mask for a literal 3 seconds for a freaking picture man... I mean come on... If I won the U.S. Open in ANYTHING..you better bet your rear I would NOT let them take a picture with half my face covered...
Auto Focus sucks. Please don't use it anymore.
