    This is probably one of the best videos I’ve ever seen. Really puts things into proper perspective of what’s in your control and what isn’t. And how to bend things towards success through hard work without falling into the trap of believing that “being the hardest worker will inevitably lead to the most success.” When anyone who has even looked at the world the slightest bit critically will realise this isn’t true.

    Absolutely. No doubt about it. You can't hit that long basket shot if you haven't been out pitching balls in the rain for years. I think it was golf legend Lee Trevino who put it this way: “Regardless of where I am, or what the weather is, or what the occasion is, every day I hit 1000 balls. When I step out onto the course, I know where the ball is going, my opponents only think they know where the ball is going.”

    @@AnthonyVicino And isn't that related so well with another video of yours I just finished watching "THIS is (slowly) ruining your financial future." You're position in that video is exactly not only how I trade currencies but also how I teach, and discussed in my own recent video "Fail Fast and Fail Often In Your FOREX Trading". If there's ever a "secret" to success at anything you've clearly presented it in this video and the other that I mentioned I just finished. It was a little more difficult for me to do that in my real estate career, but most of the stuff that I bought, I bought in a relatively short period of time - about 5 years - and just let it most of it sit and do its thing for the next 25 years.....

    @@AnthonyVicino I'd only want to comment to you that I moved out of real estate for that exact reason: the time necessary to compound. I lost a million dollar net worth twice in my life. I made it back each time. But it took me 10 years. Each time. After I retired I sold off my real estate because of that and moved to currencies because the whole issue of compounding goes away. I wish those characteristics were available back when I was 25 because I would have opted for currencies over real estate. However, I was "lucky" that I got into real estate....

    Great video! It's an interesting breakdown of luck (seemingly expanded upon the old saying that luck is where "preparation meets opportunity?") that I hadn't really heard before, but mentioned in other ways using different words and phrases. You touch upon things not necessarily being interconnected, leaving it up to individuals to consciously decide how to connect the dots themselves, which I think can be a fundamental truth in the economic world we currently live in. I find it REALLY fascinating to explore the idea of rock bottoms and turnaround points for individuals. While I've only consumed maybe 15ish hours of Hormozi's content (vs. 100s of hours for you lol), it was really interesting to hear from him different critical points in his life that both changed the way he did business and the way he perceived the world--referring to 1) seemingly losing everything in his gym onboarding business when individual gym owners went behind his back to cut out his share, causing him to change his strategy and "luckily" make bank; and 2) sitting and doing nothing for one year with a bunch of money, but still feeling miserable and depressed, causing him to come to certain realizations (which he revealed on Graham Stephan's Iced Coffee Hour) that immediately reminded me of what I've learned from some the world renowned spiritual teachers of today. It does seem to me that suffering, in whatever form it comes, gives us a choice of whether we want to continue with it or use it to learn, take action, start anew with something, etc.

    I have a question regarding business strategy: Is it more advantageous to adopt a gradual approach in a large established market, focusing on increasing value over time to attract customers, or should I take the risk of targeting smaller markets with the potential downside of limited scalability due to insufficient demand?

  • @AnthonyVicino

    @AnthonyVicino

    9 ай бұрын

    This is a great question. Yes, market matters... But if this is your first business, don't overthink it. The variable which will dictate your success is skill , which in the beginning, you don't have much. Focus all your energies in creating an awesome product that serves your customer and then go out and get sales. Everything up until that point is just hypothetical.

    I think Alex Hormozi would agree with you. I was also listening to another podcast with ceos who do 9 figures and they also mirrored your gist here. I love this approach, it’s more contextual and nuanced and closer in understanding to reality for most people. I have a follow up q; from my experience luck usually comes in batches, like it’s nothing for a long time then 2/3 opportunities at once. In the past I’ve taken the first one that came along (desperation), thereby missing out on the 2nd/3rd that was 10x bigger… I didn’t ditch the 1st because of loyalty. Have you ever come across this? What frameworks do you use to deal with these possibilities?

  • @AnthonyVicino

    @AnthonyVicino

    11 ай бұрын

    Yeah, I got Hormozi's seal of approval on this one, so he's definitely in agreement. Great point about how nothing happens for the longest time until suddenly everything happens at once. Definite truth there. My system has been to keep a Decision Journal and systematically work through each decision before jumping in. I break this concept down in the Million Dollar Skillstack video. That would definitely be worth a watch if you haven't already.
