Here in Australia, after re-fitting any rim after being worked on, we also torque all nuts to 375 pounds of torque, and a sticker saying that this tyre has been removed and refitted, thus warning the driver of what tyre assembly has been worked on.

First and foremost, accolades to the young man for a job very well done. He either owns the tire company or is a very good employee as he never stops working. Even his dead time is productive and in the California heat? Secondly, have we not yet learned that placing aluminium in direct contact with steel will cause galling and rot? Not any wonder he had to use the company truck to pull the outer rim free. Some type of separator is in order. How in Hell would anyone change a tire on the highway? Mike

Never stops working because he is doing a lot of things that could wait until the job is completed to get the driver going faster put the tools up after the jobs done get that trucker moving. His dead time is productive? playing with his phone for a few minutes i guess could help his candy crush score... That big hammer he had would have gotten that wheel off easily enough if he hit the inside of it outwards not hard at all... also a smaller hammer handle would make his life much easier than swinging the big one around all day long. But what do i know im just a lonely tire tech haha

They do make a plastic isolator that goes on the studs between the rims in the dual. However most companies/owners don’t use them or tire techs/mechanics throw them out when taking tires off. However it’s a steel hub with pilot guides that touch the aluminum rim. Galvanic corrosion sucks.... means beating and sometimes heating the hub but it’s all for that shiny aluminum rim on the outside cheap rusted steel rim on the inside look. Also in part to a steel wheel cost 130, while an aluminum is 349.99. The trucking industry does this for looks
