If only this was the problem... I can't see my disk in disk management, not even after clicking "rescan disks". I used to have a D drive, and it literally disappeared overnight. One evening I was playing a game from my D Drive, the next day, most of my games appear as "uninstalled" from my steam library. I check my storage and see my D Drive is no longer there.

@@CRMSN Well, it's fixed now, but the problem is, I don't know how. I thought: maybe it's a hardware problem. I decided to drive my laptop over to my dad to screw it open. When I started up my laptop at my dad's place, the D-drive was back. Didn't screw it open. It just magically reappeared. So only thing I can give you: put your computer in the car, drive around a few blocks and hope that fixes it

1 year later and it still works. If you can't see it in your disk management then it might be a hardware issue. Just disassemble your PC and make sure that all the screws are in, and there is nothing missing from the disk.

hey i wanted to keep my files so i chose not to format my disk. now is a raw type drive. yes its there in file explorer and is "allocated", but you cant open a raw drive? what do i do because now i cant even access the files!

Did you hide your all hard disc data before?

Will I be able to restore the data that is present in missing drive???

My device is shown to have an active, healthy partition and the only option available is to delete the volume. the disk does not show up on My Computer, though it shows elsewhere. How do I proceed thanks! Previously this drive was used for a macbook and rn Im using windows.

Avoid formatting the drive, check the steps carefully.

Does this happen occasionally or does it only happen when you install software on your d drive? and make sure installation files isn't virus infected. And you can try several disk checkup options to fix disk errors as well.

I suggest you to use a partition recovery tool like DiskDrill. But make sure that the drive is visible in the DiskPart command's list disk and list volume section. If not found, you will need to clean the entire disk with the clean command and recreate the partitions and windows. And of course you will lose all existing data from the disk if you use clean command, so be sure to backup your important data before use diskpart. Once you create , try the recovery tool for partition recovery if you want to recover any data from the lost partition (D). Its a long process.....

....it dosent have a black theres a shortcut here and when i click it it says "The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'Local Disk (F)- Shortcut.lnk'refers to is unavailable. I went brought the pc to the place where i bought it turned out the drives weren't placed properly thats why this is happening to me btw sorry for the late reply and idk if yours is the same problem maybe it is technical issue or sometimes if u dont turn off your pc or laptop or any device properly it could have some problems or if u were in a update u turned it off could have some problems sorry for bad english

Do you have 2 Hard disks in your computer? C and F run on one of your hard disks and the other is used as an e-drive , right ? If so, you can Format RAW disk (E) using Command Prompt. here is the command lines. run cmd as admin mode. 1. diskpart 2. list disk 3. select disk 0 or 1 (note: You should select the disk that included E drive.) 4. attributes disk clear readonly 5. clean ( Note: The clean command will fully format your hard disk, so before you clean it, make sure the disk does not contain any other drives or data. As i know, you are using a entire disk as your E drive, so cleaning will not afftect other Hard disk if you select exact disk.) 6. convert mbr (or “convert gpt” based on the disk capacity) 7. create partition primary 8. select part 1 9. format fs=ntfs label=new quick (you can replace "new" with another desired name) 10. list volume (you should be able to see a NTFS formatted partition , check label that you have been created ) 11.exit
