Tip: I have the older model but I mounted it to a length of 2x2 square steel tubing and now I can slide it into the receiver hitch on one of my vehicles and it doesn't move and is still very portable. Just got done changing a tire on my UTV with ease using it. It paid for itself after one use...

Great idea. Any chance that you'd be willing to share a photo or two of what you did with. the mount on the square tubing?

@@garybailey7507 I just welded it to a four foot long piece of 2x2 steel, square tubing, closer to one end than the other to allow clearance between the unit and my vehicle. You could probably bolt it to the square tubing also, it has mounting holes in it. It then just slips into my vehicles receiver hitch hole. Easy peasy...
Theses are great mowers and well built equipment Hope this machine holds up 😊

It's been great so far.
I got rid of that mount/dismount bar and bought a Mojo lever 100 percent improvement and it won't butcher your rims like the one that comes with it and I have the motorcycle attachment for mine had it about 20 years

Thank you for your comment! Great tip. Since this video, I built the "duck head mod ". I used it to remove a 15" trailer tire and it does work great.

@@mickeyj4228 That's even worlds better the Duck head style mount/ dismount
You may already know this, but the rubber "washer" goes on top of the wheel, under the "slider" to protect the outside center of your alloy rims. Nice touch.

Great tip! Thank you for your comment. I've now built the "duck head" mod. I've mounted 3 sets of tires using it, including 33" 285/60R20 AT tires on my RAM 2500 and a set of low profile 215/50R17 on my son's Pontiac Vibe. I use the aluminum centering cones that also protect the wheel. I used Counteract balancing beads on my truck tires and the harbor freight bubble balancer on my son's tires. I've also bolted the tire machine to my garage floor and reenforced the bead breaker tube and arms.

@@mickeyj4228 Great developments!! I'm ordering a duck head mod from Amazon - not sure how good it's gonna be, but I'll let you know. I thought about using the beads, but I found a completely intact Sears "Allstate" bubble balancer from the 60's I've had around the house for years and I though I would try that. I bought the drop in anchors, drill and bolts to mount mine to the garage floor as well. I'm impressed with how well-built the HF tire changer is - powder coat and everything! Just bought it yesterday...

With the increased cost of labor, this thing pays for itself quickly. I also recommend the centering cones and tire bead clamps. I have links to everything in the description section of this video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aaqu1bOGgqXTlKQ.html
I wonder if they will get an updated motorcycle attachment. My local HF still had the motorcycle attachment on clearance that was never going to sell while the old red manual tire changer was no longer available and out of stock. I balked since the clearance price was still significantly more than the old price and by the time they lowered it the manual tire changer had returned in black. I bit at just under 28 bucks even though I already had an old and crusty one. It was the last one and I’m sure I can find someone who wants it… or my decade-old modded one. I recall that the motorcycle attachment alone was discontinued at one point around 2011 (not the base/manual tire changer) and I couldn’t get it until it came back a few years later. Not sure when it was discontinued again but it must have been a long time since the app and website have been acting like it doesn’t exist since I checked sometime last year.

Thank you for commenting! I haven't heard anything about if the motorcycle attachment will be updated. I think I remember seeing them on Amazon.

the harbor freight website doesnt list everything for some reason i saw the motorcycle atachments in stock 2 years ago when i purchased my tire changer

@@GeorgiaRidgerunner Yeah, but that was around when they canceled it and they usually list discontinued items for a while… presumably until they sell out though that definitely wasn’t the case here.

@@emmettturner9452 i wouldnt know about that when i said in stock i actually meant at a brick and mortar store the harbor freight website doesnt list everything in the stores i dont know why but its been that way for a long time then theres things that arent in the store but on the website i never quite understood the reasoning behind that i should note ive limited my shopping at harbor freight these days because of that rebranding thing they did a lot stuff didnt change but the prices went up on products that were already priced as high they should be for the quality of the product you were paying for
Small improvements. What would have really been helpful is if the bead breaker arms were reinforced for greater rigidity.
@mickeyj4228

My plan is to reinforce them. I just broke down a 15" trailer tire, and it didn't flex.

yes sir i agree 100% the bead breaker arms are quite weak
What is the smallest wheel this will accommodate? My son races go karts and I'm looking for something to change tires with.

I changed my DR mower tires which are 8 inch. Don't think you could go any smaller. I can measure the baseplate if that would help? Harbor also sells a mini-tire changer. www.harborfreight.com/mini-tire-changer-58920.html
