Less than 3 amps of draw that's hard to find a lot of people. Don't understand when it's winter and it's negative. 15° it makes it hard to start a compressor. That's oil cold. Not only that, the drive the amperage less than 3 amps that compressor will start in negative 40. It gets that cold in Utah

I noticed the HF compressors take forever to fill up the first time and keep up , they run forever.

I bought this compressor recently to keep in the back of my car, to keep the tires topped off. That's all I intend to use it for. It seems to work great so far. Sure, it's not a powerhouse, but I feel I definitely got a good bargain for the $59.99 I paid. This goes without saying, but for this price, it does not come with a hose, or any accessories. HF sells a decent air compressor starter kit, with everything you will need for basic startup, for $16.99. I added the 2 year replacement plan for $16.99, for peace of mind. So, 59.99+16.99+16.99=93.97. Depending on your state and local sales tax, you will come in at around $100. Not bad for a light duty compressor. My only complaint so far, is this little unit makes an incredible racket.

Just bought this 3 days ago and opened it up and the regulator valve literally just spun freely in both directions. There was no way to tell if I had opened or closed it all the way. Considering the instructions said to open it all the way for the break in process I had no way to tell and didn't want to be the cause of damage so I just decided to return this product and get a full refund. Be cautious if you decide to purchase this. Mine was defective straight from the box and if I had tried plugging it in and attempting to use it then I would ve subject to a restocking fee of 20% and would not have got a full refund. Luckily I was smart enough to fully read the owner manual before ever plugging it in and turning it on. Nothing against harbor freight because I have got some pretty good tools from them and they were understanding to my situation and gave me a full refund without even questioning it so for that I give a shout out to the nice woman that was working at the time I returned this product. Just a heads up if you decide to purchase this item just make sure you read the manual cover to cover and check everything is in working condition before just plugging it in and assuming that it will be good.

Does anyone know how many watts it uses to start? Asking so I'd know if my generator would power it

This compressor is nice and light, but it is incredibly loud. It is also even less powerful than it seems. I thought it would make a cheap stopgap replacement for a broken ridgid compressor. I thought it would suffice for some relatively light nailing applications, but I found I had to constantly wait for it to catch up. It might be ok for 23 ga or 18 ga nails, but anything beyond that is iffy. Using a palm nailer on joist hangers was an exercise in frustration. I ended up returning it. I'd only recommend it for extremely light infrequent use or if absolutely every dollar is a major concern.

I shot through a box of 2 inch brads to test it out and it didn't have to catch up at all. Maybe I got lucky or yours is defective. Did you oil the nailer?

Does it works for sand blasting or would you recommend something different

If you’re sanding for small projects, I think it’s a good start but If you’re cerakoting or doing long projects, it starts to weaken out. My boss had a couple of these and then swapped out for larger ones, ended up giving these away lol

Just bought one this morning, then had tonrun all over the olace to find the fittings to attach an air hose with, nothing I could find that explains any of that, and now as far as I can tell the dtain valve will not close. I have turned it all the way in either direction and air still comes out. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

These compressors are ideal for light duty work. I wouldn't use one for any type of power tool really. I use these tiny types strictly for inflation purposes.

They are garbage. I bought it and returned it the next day because it doesn't hold air. I didn't get my full refund because there is a $12.00 restocking feel. Totally garbage!

I've had one for over a year and it's been great. But it's basically a tire inflator. It's limited to what it can do. Going in to it with that understanding, you wouldn't be disappointed. I got mine on sale for 40 bucks. So if I didn't like it, at that price point, I would just go and buy a bigger one also.
