I found my first gold ring in the 70s with an old Whites Coinmaster. That Gordon blows it away. The ring was an England Air Force Base 18k with missing stone. That old detector used a sack full of batteries. I hope you find a huge ring or bracelet. They`re out there but you have to dig everything. I do like to just hunt quarters though. Back in the 70s/80s/90s you could find more quarters than you could carry in some places like boat landings, fairgrounds, gravel parking lots of bars and baseball fields.

lucky dog! i am so looking forward to pillaging the local swim holes. gold baby! the thing that gets me is how all detectors are slightly different as far as the numbers meaning different things. seems ;like it should all be standard. like, thick gold ring being a certain number across all machines... it seems to be randomly different across all machines. but i have no goldring with which to test my machine. i know its low numbers that i dial out on porpise.

@@rickylakemusic I found three 14k gold rings in just over 30 minutes in a swimming area on Toledo Bend Lake when they`d lowered it to repair the dam. I was using an old Bounty Hunter from Radio Shack in 1996...the first detector I had ever seen with target ID. Rings came up as Nickel/Pull Tab on the ID and that was like a miracle to me back then. That detector was stolen. Someone had dumped garbage in this spot so I only found a few rings before I got into the trash. But at least I found the three...my very best day ever!

I have an old Bounty Hunter 202 and was able to get a damaged box deal on a Vanquish 340. Then the area where I wanted to use it changed owners. I have no car and there`s no places to hunt here in Louisiana anymore in my area anyway because of hunting clubs. I made a gallon of blackberry wine and a quart of white lightning recently. Can`t buy it so I make it.
