I've been kicking around buying one of these for more than a year, it's something I wouldn't be using everyday but sure would come in handy at times. thanks for the review

When I went to HF to buy it before the $99 deal ran out in April, they were out of stock. But they gave me a "rain check" so I could buy it at any HF for $99 within 30 days. I'd never seen or heard of a Harbor Freight Rain Check before so it's worth remembering they can do that if they're out of stock on something you want to buy and have a discount coupon.

I've gotten rain checks a few times at HF, always from a manager, it is not always available on sale items, not sure of the rules......and its not something they advertise, but it is available and it never hurts to ask - thanks for bringing the rain check, I had forgotten about it - thanks for subscribing!

@@snapwholeharborfreightreviews * I was told that if the sale item was out of stock, but HF was expecting more of the same item in before the sale expired, HF would not issue a rain check. If HF was not going to get anymore of the sale item in before the sale expired, they could then issue a rain check.

I know this is random but my wife and kids got me the Bauer thickness planer for Father’s Day. It was always one of those things that I always looked at but never wanted to soothe money on it.

Wondering how it compares to the Central Machinery 4 x 36 belt sander. Looks exacty same as WEN and RYOBI just different colors

I think it is a better design, both have plus and minus,, and the dust collection works better, the wen, woodskil, Grizzly, Eastwood, Rockwell, Powertec, craftsmen, rikon, workpro and ryobi look to be the same sander with a few cosmetic differences, such as the power switch, the sanding stop on top, and the labels, but all seem to have the same power rating - and the bauer is cheaper than all of them, very common for an overseas manufacturer to OEM a woodworking tool to many distributors, used to happen with taiwan before the rise of china, you can see the evolution of HF's product line over the years as they moved from taiwan to china, - at the current rate soon all the mass market tool distributors will offer the same products, it will be just a matter of picking the color you want - thanks for subscribing!

Being an old video guy, you might try some backlight to brighten up the left side of your shooting area..the left side appears to be darker, could be that you are blocking some of that light..

I took down all the old lights - 28000 lumins, and replaced them with 4 12000 lumin screw in garage lights, with 1 10000 lumin light on the right side, so 58000 lumin total, and you are right, I planned to add a 10000 lumin light on the left side, but got side-tracked, I have plenty of HF lights, just need to keep adding them, mostly on the sides, the HF lights give better area coverage, the garage lights are either spotlights or area coverage, but not both, the white cloth helps reflect some of the light, the challenge of hanging lots of light is limiting shadows, and I can't add more white cloth to reflect and still make the area usable, the area is well lit, but the camera does not pick up all the light - I'm determined to use LED but it is not comparable to incandescent in terms of coverage and quality of light

The blacklight should eliminate the shadows if placed correctly..it was a constant battle when we did interviews..those lights could be angled from above or off to the side...put one in a fixture that you can move around to see how it affects the shadows.
