Harbor Freight 1 Ton Chain Hoist Review & DIY Poormans Trolley
I did a quick review on the Harbor Freight 1 Ton Chain Hoist and I also explain how I installed it in my workshop. **Please consult with an expert prior to installing a similar setup in your workshop**

Excellent video thankyou !!
I’ve used the crap out of mine.only issue is it hangs up occasionally but just pull the chain back and it’ll free right up

I had that happen when I first got mine. I soaked the crap out of the inner workings and the entire length of the chain with PB blaster and let it sit and then ran it all the way back and forth through the workings a couple of times. I think it was just great and grime from sitting in a warehouse. I haven’t had that problem since.

No, I moved over a year ago and now I have a gambrel for my hoist.
hey i dont know if you would be open to this but what about a bunch of skateboard wheels lined up in a row to roll along the top of the beam? Considering they are sometimes rubber and have great bearings

As a skateboarder and extremely heavy old school woodworking machinery enthusiast, I’m a huge fan of this idea, and it would work so well, and will work so well when I employ it in my own shop. I apologize for the run on sentence, thank you for thinking.
Nice. Where did you get those hooks for your fishing rods? thanks

Dude… you didn’t even use it once in the entire video, sucks I watched so much of this video to not even see it in action… pointless video talking about your own personal decisions on placement of it, etc.. Misleading title.

It spans the workshop. I have since moved, but I guess it was about 12 feet,
Agree. I’ve had little problems with my Harbor Freight (old HF) large tools. I appreciated getting cast iron, not plastic (recent HF). I’m thinking about buying a hoist for moving my shop equipment. I have a vintage Delta shaper and a vintage Craftsman jointer - both cast iron. I put the jointer on casters, so that moves easily now. The shaper came with a wheeled stand - the wheels are underneath the enclosed stand. But, the shaper kept getting hung up and dragged whenever I try to move it. Yesterday I gently tipped over the shaper to assess the issue with its wheels. I rested it on its side, slanted, on auto ramps (Harbor Freight). I hoped that by laying it down on a slope and not laying flat I could more easily lift it back upright once I fixed its problem. WRONG!!! The current center of gravity is not to my advantage (although it’s better than if it were laying flat). Now I have a leaning shaper in the middle of my working floor that I can’t lift alone. 😡😡😡😡🔥🔥 (I’m a chick.) Thanks for this video.
