🔺 Our Mission 🔺
Founded in 1997 in Cedar City Utah, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and education.
Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah (SWF) cares for more than 100 sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife annually. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal.
Informing, Educating and Inspiring
The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy.
Martin Tyner
Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends.
At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors.
“One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.”
Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.
“Grandpa believed in a very simple philosophy; that a person should get up every morning and do good. Doing good means that you do well for others and doing well means that you do good for yourself. There is nothing wrong with doing well, but Grandpa always believed in doing good.”
Martin's book, Healer of Angels, reflects back on his life: from a young boy terrified of birds to becoming the first man in North America licensed to train a wild golden eagle in the ancient art of falconry.
Through a heartwarming collection of true stories he describes his challenging transformation from a shy dyslexic teenager, to the founder and CEO of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation.

The dip dyed doggie running through the snow really made me smile 😄
Prayers for strength and endurance! We anxiously await these videos! Thank you for all you both do! ❤
May GOD BLESS your kindness to HIS CRITTERS❤❤❤❤❤
Nice to see you and your new little friend!
Martín and Susan and everyone else, I’ve missed you so much. I love your videos!!!
I know it's not always fun or easy being in snow but my gosh how gorgeous is that scene!
I never seen something so ugly and adorable at the same time! ❤ AND OMG im loving the bright pink on the poodle. As you know 2023 is Viva Magenta! So you doggo is in trend! Slay!
Happy baby season! I am grateful for all that you do!
Feel lucky there! My sister lives in S.D. She is literally buried with snow over 20 feet deep. Taller than the roof of her house. No way in or out... Here near Olympia, Washington, we have had a whole total all winter of... close to one inch of snow. But my son, who lives about an hour's drive away, has had snow too deep to drive his truck out of his driveway many times this winter. The poor little babies who are being born now! I'm just hoping they can survive. That little barn owl may consider itself lucky. Nice and warm, a full tummy, and two devoted parents to care for it. What more could it want? You, in the other hand, might want nothing more than a good night's sleep. 😴❤
Ty Martin for your compassion and love for all God's creatures
Love all owls Your dog was so happy playing in the snow lol
So glad that you and Susan are able to rescue another owl. Cody is so adorable...great job Susan! :)
Thank you Martin and Susan for all you do.🙏❤️
Cute little guy.
Amazing and beautiful! Thanks for bringing us such wonderful stories!
Oh wow! March is supposed to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb! Enjoy the snow.. you got more than we did!

@Ernie H Here in Western Washington, we did have a terrible storm at the beginning of March. But lately...sunny skies abound. Definitely in like the proverbial lion, and out with a wagging lamb's tail!
I thought it was a baby vulture! Happy Spring and Snow, it is beautiful, and Cody looks amazing in the snow, ❤
And Cody is very handsome with red xmas decor ... he is always the looker! Merry Xmas spirit ❤l🎄in Spring!
They grow into such beautiful birds, but as babies they are soooo ugly you just have to love 'em. That 10 /1/2 in. of snow is probably more than we've gotten all winter here in my part of SW Michigan. I saw yesterday that Salt Lake City was getting clobbered by Lake Effect snow off of the Great Salt Lake. So good to see you 2 back(and Kody) missed ya! How are Helen & Kate doing? Oh, and give Scout a hug for me.
Wow so beautiful with the snow ❄️
Sweet baby is great hands with y'all..
I thought he was a baby vulture! So cute!! Love you two for all the caring you do. ❤️❤️
Cody! With red highlights so he won't get lost in the snow! I can't imagine getting up through the night to feed newborns _every year_ . Thanks for all you do. Lovely to find an EWR video on my KZread today :)

It makes you feel good though. A little sacrifice to make someone else's life better, or even to make that life possible.

Nice to see you folks again. We are going into winter here in South Africa. Cody looks like a reindeer with the red. Love it❤️

Here in the South of France, we're experiencing a severe drought. Spring is kicking but we haven't had rain for weeks and weeks. It really worries me for the wildlife 😥😥😥😥

France hasn't be relevant for decades.
I heard that Southwest wildlife is also affected…so much so that food has been put out with the hopes that it will help to avoid dissemination of population…..deer, big horn..etc.
Thank you for the new video. I've learned such a wealth of knowledge from watching your channel. I realize making and editing videos takes a lot of time and energy but I do wish there were more!
So good to hear from yall again!
Keep up the good work! Ofc 10inch of snow in April, the planet is overheating ....... that's why it snows.
Awww! Very cute little owl!❤
Missouri didnt get much snow this year. I can already see the bugs are gonna be hell
Hahahaha love the pom poms on your fur baby
Happy Spring!
Haha!! That doggie 😂😂
Very thanks 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Haha...dumdum with those red ear tips and puffy red tail. Stands out in the white snowy background.
Cody so handsome with the red! I hope the Aldo's well since you're saving it! ❤🐩
Good luck 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Precious Baby Barn Owl 🥰🙏
Nice..thank you
In eastern Pennsylvania we didn’t get any snow this last year
✨️🍀✨️🍀✨️🍀🎀🎀💞
I was surprised by your snow. Just check the elevation around Cedar City, Utah and it over a mile. Is the high elevation why you have snow in April, May and at times June?
Woah weather is getting weird. It's not unusual for us in canada to have a lot of snow but we had very strong winds, i've never seen winds that strong. There was big power outtage here, one that last over a week while it was -35°C outside so it was getting hard to survive. We had another one this week because of strong winds again...
Hi Martin and staff - Any update on the wildlife center?

Hi Conan, WE have a contractor working on prairie dog permits, and city and state permits to begin building this spring. Don't have a timeline yet but hoping to have more news and starting date later this month.

Why do the owls fall out of the nests so often?
I wonder why we shouldn't put the baby back to the nest
So cute Martin!! Thinking of you and Susan😊
