dear friends, for the people who think this is abuse. that's not it it's not like big lick. These are Icelandic animals that can tölt and pace and that is a natural step. Not all Icelanders can do it, but most do in the wild. They actually tölt and pace. Even though it looks like abuse it's really not I swear. and then you think huh, but those people are too big! That does indeed look a bit strange, but Icelanders are the only ones who can carry tall people, which is why they are horses and not ponies. dear friends please understand that this is NOT abuse but something natural!!

Yes l know they are no taller than ponies but in this registry they are Horses & yes they are ridden by adults with no saddle pad. If you travel to lceland to ride you can not bring any of your boots, gloves or any tack that has been on a equine from your country . The people are very strict about cross Contamination of diseases!🐴👍🥰

@lynnetaylor1647. Icelandics have the gene DMRT3 which allows them to tolt and pace. Yes, they are trained to learn the aids for those gaits just like any other horse with trot or canter! so yes, you need to ask them for it, but they are born with the gait

Are thoes awful shoes they put on the front feet of the horse that makes they have an unnatural trot. A high stepping walk the reeks having with the bones of the horse. If the front shoes are 2-3 the height of the back feet, the people should be disqualified from ever owning any living breathing animal for life!! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!!°!

nope no shoes in the world can make a three gaited horse tölt or pace, and the icelandic gaited competitions have extremely strict rules when it comes to what is on their feet limiting the total weight and form amongst other things. There is no difference in height of front and back hooves and they are ridden and trained in those gaits in arenas aswell as on the trail

You are ignorant. This isn't 'big lick', it is a natural gait to the breed.
