I have to disagree. Re airing? Hell yes. But nowadays many remakes aren't nearly as good as the original. Wouldn't take the risk

I first saw this anime when I was probably ten or twelve; I'm like seventeen now. Oh my god, it still makes me cry. It's so fucking bittersweet, I can't. This is like one of those endings where you wish it would go into another season, but at the same time, you know it should be left be because it was such a good ending and omg. Bawling my eyes out.

It's weird how we have/had essentially the same experience. I can't wait until I'm a bit older and I look back thinking about how much I've changed over the years.☺️

Ah man, same. I would have been 16 5 years ago and I also watched this when I was about 11/12! I think I watched it twice, at that age and later at 14 or 15. I loved this anime so much it was ridiculous. The ending still makes me tear up because of the emotional rollercoaster this actually was.

i first watched when i was 18-19 yo...i'm 29 right now...and this still makes me emotional 10 years later...it's one of those anime that the entirety comes flooding back as soon as you catch a glimpse.

Tbh meroko is one of the main reasons I cried MEROKO HAS SUCH A PURE AND KIND HEART

Swear the ending is just so beautiful even in 2020. I am never ever satisfied with anime endings, but this was perfection. Meroko is just a gem 💎

Because let's admit it, today's anime industry refuses to make a series with a start and ending, full with conclusion. Today anime is just advertisement side project of multimedia franchises, not its own entertainment, as sad as that is. Exceptions are few and far in between.

Manga's better. Anime gets points for the songs but manga gets more points for character and story. And you actually get to know Eichi-kun in the manga. After watching the anime first I kept wondering why Eichi didn't become an angel.

Plus, Izumi really looks like a pervy jerk here. In the Manga he was in the beginning, but then he slowly changed and started to hang out with the others

I love how Meroko went from this no problems show off, to a selfish catty bitch to a selfless, loving person who brings me to tears. I wish she'd got with blond boy though. Ah, Mitsuki and Takuto my otp from over ten years ago.

Nah she didn't lose, she loved Takuto but always knew it was one sided. Takuto and Mitsuki ended up loving each other and because Meroko loved them both, she wanted them both to be happy and found her inner peace in doing so, which is why she became an angel. Because she put others feelings above her own and found peace in it. ❤

@@candylover1991 Well in the manga, the reason why Takuto never returned Meroko's feelings... is because he knew that Meroko is still in Love with Izumi. I recommend you read the manga... there's a lot of stories that haven't been unfolded in the anime yet.

It's been years since I saw this anime, and yet I still cried watching the ending again, it's just so bittersweet, and it completely warms my heart, it's beautiful

NEW FUTURE is phenomenal. Like the song gave justice to the ending, a new future ahead for all of them. 💓 I rlly missed this anime. Everytime i want to cry, i always come back here. The ending is a new beginning but for some reasons, it's carrying the "feels". And damn, when you know that the vc of Takuto and Meroko are already dead, it gives you more reasons to cry.

I am so feeling bad for meroko She gave up on so much and never had the love she deserved... she fell in love 3 times and ended all alone What's so great about being an angel?

I watched a decade ago and just watching this video made me cry. This was one of the first anime/manga to actually make me cry. Unbelievable at how something years back can still affect me. I guess the body never forgets, crazy.

Came back to this by absolute random chance and started to cry again. I barely even remember the anime much but the ending gets me every time even 12+ years later!! I'm just so emotional over it.

Even after a year of having watched this, I still cry at the ending. I do wander if Mituki and Takuto became friends and stayed with each other though :)

The first time i watched the show was about 5 or 4 years ago and i was just browsing through youtube and came across all the nostalgia anime. the first time i saw this scene i was just happy, i didnt exactly cry. watching it 5 years later and im bawling

Well, there's a lot of different settings between the manga and the anime. In the manga, the original ending of the story is that Mitsuki still continues her career as a singer. One day Takuto appeared in her concert and yes all of the audience witness there reunion scene, Meroko and Izumi became partners and couple again. The manager and the doctor ended up with each other. There's a lot of things that didn't happen in the anime actually, for example... Takuto did met Mitsuki when she was a child... Izumi's past and how he really loves Meroko... Meroko's past is connected with Mitsuki's grandmother, and the reason why her grandma hates music... Takuto's ex-girlfriend... the Manager's dark past and first love... and Mitsuki already knew Eichi's been dead for a long time... I guess all we didn't see that... considering that the anime finishes first before the manga. Though I hope that this anime would have another re-make like Hunter x Hunter and Fruits Basket.

I'm not not crying.....I'm just sweating.....from my eyes.....

5:03 really got me, I cry on that part every time 🥺😭 bc she saw meroko and every time I remember all that time they spent together soo freaking sad

dang this always gets me considering how many times i've watched it, but the one that really makes me cry is because the voice actor of both meroko and takuto have passed away already, RIP

Me too, this ending makes me cry every time and not a few for sure !!!! There is 5 years ago that I've seen it for the first time, but each time it's the same thing : I cry and even if I just listen the song. In fact this is the only song I ever heard that made me this sort of behaviour, what's a strange mystery!
