Excellent reaction(s) and Happy Birthday Moa. Moa's smirk is just so good, you could see she just couldn't help herself. Where Moa and Yui were mainly leading chants (as in their 'scream and dance' role) for songs on the first two albums, Moa was doing less of that and was actually providing harmonies and backing vocals in many of the songs on Metal Galaxy. Moa has said herself she doesn't want to be the centre like Su having experienced that in small doses and realised just how much pressure Su is under to deliver the lead vocals so consistently every time. She has taken on the lead in the choreo and that is a huge part of what makes BABYMETAL unique, so Su and Moa are on an equal footing as a duo, each with their own major responsibility.

When Moa’s birthday comes around I always think of Mori sensai’s reply of “who cares.” Well of course we all do, including Mori. Good job, Gombers-metal.

Moa's smile at 19:35 gets me every time. There are a whole lot of us that would like to hear Moa have more singing parts in Babymetal. She has such a good voice. In a recent interview she talked about being focused on dancing and that she would rather listen to Su sing. I guess you could take that to mean she doesn't want to sing. Or you could take her words as diplomatically smoothing the issue over. Like her way of saying, 'It's ok! This is how we're doing it and I'm happy with it'. Not necessarily that she does not want to sing at all. I mean, we can all see her expressions and how much she was enjoying herself here. :)

Great smile, indeed, but for me, one of my favorite Moa-chan smile is at 4:31 in this video... It's so mischievous and cute at the same time, it gets me in the feels! Kitsune up, Po!

From 2010 to 2021, Moa has changed a lot, sometimes I think she is a different person. What she has not changed is cuteness and dimples. Happy birthday Super Moa.

Yes, I agree that she has changed a lot. At some point her face changed a lot, so much so that if you told me they switched her for another girl with dimples, I would consider believing it. Some reactors have thought she was a different girl too! Her face goes from thin and narrow to more rounded. BUT she still has that sass and attitude on stage and in interviews...so I know its the real SUPER MOA!

I totally agree with you - Moa needs to sing more, she deserves it with that voice.

@@gedejeko, well, we are trusting the translation but I believe Mikiko said that Su is a "natural dancer" and that Yui and Moa were being influenced by Su's style at a subconscious level. I point this out in that Mikiko doesn't make comparisons of "best" or "better than" between people. That is in large part cultural. In that same interview she also described Yui and Moa as "consummate idols." All high praise from someone that gives compliments like that rarely but genuinely.

She has a good voice, and it sounds great. It's a great tradition they have. But she has stated herself that it's all built around Su's voice, and we have really only heard her sing lead during "Love Machine", "Headbangeeerrr" and the Black Babymetal songs, though they are more rapping. Around 2018, during the Dark Side, some of the formations required her to be front and center in front of Su, and she said, she could feel the pressure that Su does for every song. I'm not sure she is really longing to sing more. I too love that smirk on her face, but honestly I just take that as she's happy to sing on her birthday, the ppl loving it and just being Moa in general. 😊 But also props to Su for learning Moa's choreo. It's years between when she gets to be dancer, so I'm impressed by her as well. We stan a queen and a princess. Kitsunes up! 🤘🏻 😎 🦊

💕 Like you remembered, 'Love Machine' was from the Legend "1999" Yuimetal & Moametal Seitansai concert (June 30th, 2013). Originally released in Moa's birth year 1999 by Morning Musume BABYMETAL's supporting dancer Riho Sayashi was a former ace Morning Musume member. While she was only a one-year-old when the song was originally released, she sung it a few times once she joined the group. I like to imagine that Moa and Riho went through the choreography for this together at least once while touring with BABYMETAL. While Su is the strongest singer, and Yui was the most precise dancer, Moa has always been the best at engaging a crowd. She's a natural born Idol. Even in their Sakura Gakuin days, their choreographer MIKIKO would tell the other members to study Moa's facial expressions during the songs. 🤘 Did you notice the lyric change from 15 (ichigo) to 20 (hatachi) in this version of 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!'? They first made that substitution for 'Legend S', Su's 20th birthday concerts. Moa has fewer "screams" and chants on 'Metal Galaxy', the most recent album, but she does a lot more of the backing vocals. Unfortunately, because of the intensity of the dancing, a lot of that is on a backing track for the live shows. Which I'm actually fine with. Both Su and Moa are playing to their strengths. Moa would have to dance less to sing more at live shows. Su would have to sing less in order to dance more. That doesn't mean I don't want a Moa solo, as well as a true duet on the next album though.

A year later and I just found out that for the legend M show Moa entered by flying in attached to the Babymetal logo sign as wings. Is there any video's of this? I just saw a still pic of it. That had to be crazy to see.

i don't have the deep knowledge some people have about the band, but even i can see the differences in styles. While Su sang perfectly and seems to have perfect timing for every line. It's the fact that Moa extended that last RU, the way she shows how overwhelmed she was and that last longer ヘドバンギャー　really makes a different impression in the viewer. What a great stage show from the band

Moar Moa makes things better. But in the last album they have begun working her in more, like in Da Da Dance and Night Night Butn. But she shines brighter as a dancer. Think of the interpretive dance she did in Shine - that was the moment from this concert for me. Moa comes up with a lot of the ideas for the choreo. She is a world class dancer.

Gombers im with you on this one I kinda want moa to sing more along with the avengers but that's a whole different story. But yea Moa's voice is incredible!

Thanks for your reaction (and happy birthday to Moa of course :-). Moa definitely kills it in her performances here and I'd love if she's get a solo song like Su does but as someone said in the comments, it looks like Moa is totaly fine with how the singing parts in BM are so if it's her decision I'm fine with it.

I think that smirk has, in and of itself, resulted in a lot of fresh Moa stans. I think she actually might enjoy the fact that hearing her take lead vocals is a rare treat for fans. She has a beautiful voice, but it really seems like she has taken over focusing on dancing every since Yui left, to make sure that essential part of their performances maintains the same high standard. In interviews you can tell she's extremely passionate about that.

Happy birthday, Moa! Moa is awesome, but I also love watching Su dance in this one. We rarely get to see those more powerful moves from her, and she still has that special style that slightly lets her dorkiness shine through.

The name Moa means most beloved and amongst Babymetal fans this is certainly true, all three girls are wonderful in their own way but there is something special about Moa that just draws people to her. She has always had a great voice, but the style she mostly sings with Babymetal does not really show it off, during her reign as student council chairman in Sakura Gakuin she got to sing the lead parts along with Yui and you could hear it in those songs. Regarding her dancing, Yui is more precise but I think Moa is a little more natural and athletic, Yui is the master of kawaii but Moa has those little looks and smiles so they compliment each other well onstage. Happy Birthday Moa! It is very interesting to compare Yui & Moa's performances in Legend 1999. Yui's dance is wonderful. In an interview, Moa has said, "I joined two talented, a vocalist and a dancer, and I was at first confused." But Moa is a hard working person. And she has a natural cheerfulness. She is a natural born entertainer. We can see by listening to MoaBangerrr, but her voice is a little sweet on her nose, but I think it is a good voice. I think she has talent as a solo singer. But she supports Su- and chose to be BABYMETAL from now on too. So she only sings at special times. It is a crying story. There are various opinions among fans about the true relationship between Yui & Moa. I try not to worry too much because nobody kowns the true, but when we watch the videos of Sakura Gakuin at that time, they look they were certainly good friends each other and featuring their relationship in their elementary school. But when they become junior high, they often stay away and were with other members. I think that was what they were doing intentionally, considering the balance of the whole group. Btw, in the opening picture show, narration has said "人形の機械 (Ningyou no kikai, a machine like a doll)". It means "Aibo", a dog type robot, sold in 1999. As with Furby, same as Yui's case, it has introduced things that were popular in Japan in 1999 , being ambiguous expressing. Thank you from Japan.

Happy birthday Moa chan and all the best wishes! I think most of us BM fans knew that Moa can sing for a long time and so did Su and Moa herself (obviously). Moa was always super focussed on the dance and scream role since that was her responsibility within BM especially since Yui left and never really had the ambition to have more solo singing parts. I mean every time she gets to sing solo (like in the recent last show at Budokan) it is always very special and a moment to remember. If she would do more solos that would take that specialty away, so I am good with her sticking to what she does best.

There's nothing meaningful about Love Machine outside of the fact that it was released around Moa's birth year and is one of the most famous idol songs. When I lived in Japan a long time ago people liked to sing this song at karaoke (not as popular as the theme song for Evangelion though). The dance you liked is a modified version of the iconinc Morning Musume dance for the song.

It's hard to sing and dance. She does do live background singing on Shine and Arkadia. She always does live vocals on Road of Resistence. But, like I said it is hard to sing harmony while dancing as hard as she does. At some of the recent shows she did sing GJ solo. But, as others have said she did a bunch of background/harmony vocals on Metal Galaxy.

As much as i love Moa, and would love to see her singing more, she doesnt have nearly the depth and range Su has. Moa is an ultimately loveable soul and performer, Su is a dream of a lead vocalist.

@@elijahbenedict1782 Moa singing more is great dream ❤ Su not lead vocalists my worse nightmare 😱 Su is awsome vocalists and her range is incredible changes her vocals with each song and never sounds out of breath even though she's being dancing . Moa is a great dancer love her style in dancing more than Riho( i willget backlash for that statement) but she is just a talented singer not anywhere close to Su's abilities. Could you imagine Moa doing Akatsuki, NRNR , Rondo of Nightmare our hit any of them high notes Su hits . Moa is well loved and the Moa fans are allways shouting give her the microphone more but i think there hearts are ruling there judgement. Which i understand because i love all 3 originals and i am impressed with Momoko and got soft spot for her and that's got nothing to do with the Big smile i got off her at Apollo show in London he says crossing his fingers 🤘❤❤❤❤🤘

I love Su and all but I think I much prefer Moa's version of Headbanger, I'd love her to have more prominent roles in some songs in the future

Yeah dude that's my only qualm, they absolutely failed to utilize moa. She said she doesn't like the center stage tho so maybe they tried and she just wasn't interested. At the very least, she should have had a verse in BMC

Hey great reactions!! Happy B-Day to Moa, amazing lady. She obviously can sing, has a nice voice. When they were younger, she (and Yui) were only in charge of the little chants on some songs (Sore Sore, Seiya Seiya, etc), but in Metal Galaxy her singing role has been expanded, doing harmonics besides what she was already doing (singing both her and Yui's parts). The issue that they have to figure out with Moa is the energetic dancing. She can't really sing well for too long while doing a Zumba routine at the same time, and even in Moabanger you can hear her losing her breath a bit at parts. With Su, what they did is that her dancing parts are not as taxing, and she has learned to be even more economical with her moves because there are two dancers in front of her going at full speed. If Moa tones down her dancing, there would be a noticeable difference with the Avenger, and BABYMETAL as a whole would feel less energetic. They have to figure that one out, we'll see what happens in the next era.

Your question just has one answer, Koba-metal ! I don't understand too, why Moa hasn't get a chance does singing like su, i think it's back at the BABYMETAL concept, main vocal(clean vocal) and backing vocal(cute vocal) even Moa voice isn't cute anymore like when she was young 😂 Good reaction 🤘

Happy birthday Moa! Fantastic reaction! Su might be the better singer and Yui might have been the better dancer but man Moa is such an excellent performer. Her stage presence is phenomenal. 🔥❤️

Older BM songs tended to feature some more vocals from Moa and Yui but the newest album is almost entirely Su, though to be fair she does have much more vocal range, especially now that her voice has fully matured. I'm pretty sure BM will be back to a triangle formation by the time they do their next album so maybe Moa will get a few more singing parts if they revert to the older school way of doing things again.

A person who has not mastered the professional technique of singing will get tired very quickly. To sing for an hour without any problems, you need to not just sing, you need to sing and breathe correctly. Otherwise, a person will simply spoil his throat. Su is a professional singer, quite high level. Moa is more of an aspiring singer. Although she probably also took vocal lessons. You can sing well without being a professional. But it will be a big strain on the voice if you try to do the same as a professional singer.

Check out Yui Banger from Paris. Yes, I agree about giving Moa more to do. Without Black Babymetal Moa doesn't have an opportunity to fully use her singing talents. Yui leaving was a big blow for BM and Su, but it was even bigger for Moa because she lost her partner. She can do more and should do more and I fear that she'll get frustrated with the current set up because it doesn't do her justice.

I think one of the reasons Moa doesn't sing the whole song is, as absurd as it sounds, she doesn't have the wind for it. You can hear her start to lose steam in her singing at the end. She and Su have different skills expertise. Moa probably doesn't sing on the treadmill like Su does, and I wonder if Su could maintain Moa's frenetic dancing pace these days. I dunno, they basically have Olympic levels of endurance, so what do I know 🤘🦊🦊🦊🤘

I don't believe there is any credible source for the practicing singing on a treadmill rumor. That was a fan comment that has been picked up and repeated. I haven't seen any BABYMETAL interview where they mention this at all. Su has mentioned that she adjusts her breathing depending on the dance routine, and that she has had to take altitude into consideration for some performances.

when u have a superior lead vocal like Su, how can you ask the others to sing too? no offense to Moa. Moa role in babymetal are dancing/screaming and Su is dancing/vox. when you ask moa to sing more for bm, it's the same as you get rid of the Su's role in bm.
