Hanoi Rocks was a Finnish rock band formed in 1979. They were the first Finnish band to chart in the UK and they were also popular in Japan. The band broke up in June 1985 after the drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley died in a car accident during their first US tour in December 1984.

I feel they were much more punk than hair metal. A lot of American bands were sadly attempting this vibe but Hanoi got it right. Especially Live.

I was at most of these gigs when in the UK - I was 19 and they were unique and amazing live. They stole from so many people and admitted it - then they were ripped off by GnR and MCrue, both pale imitations if u ask me. RIP Razzle x❤️🦘

U was very lucky. I was 9 in 84 I remember seeing the up around the bend video on MTV when Razzle was alive I didnt even realize it. I turned 10 on 11-27 he died (killed) on 12-8. I always did remember him I just knew him as Razzle. You was very lucky to get to have seen them!
