Its amazing how I just subscribed yesterday and whenever i feel a bit tired I come here and listen to you talk, reminds me of my mum, and how she would teach me music. I'm interested in something about Loituma in general. You all seem to be accomplished musicians involved in many different projects. But of course your internet fame is because of Ievan Polkka, which is what most people see you performing. In the performances, you always seem to have the same roles; Anita with the lead vocals, Hanni second vocals, Sari and Timo backing. It might sound childish, but are you all happy with this distribution of tasks? I know that this can be a source of frustration for less prominent group members, e.g. the stereotypical bass player in a rock band. And as an extension to that question: do you feel any frustration that you are maybe not recognized properly for your other many talents in music? By the way, I don't think any of you should feel bad in any way about it, I am just interested to know what your group dynamic is! By the fact that you came together to do a 2021 production of Ievan Polkka for free on youtube, I can only imagine you are all good friends and you are happy that at least one of your works got worldwide recognition. I love the arrangement and your execution in particular!

I'm sorry, for some reason I have forgotten to answer to you. Loituma has always worked in democracy. We all have had our solos. =) I don't think we feel anything that strong as frustration because of people not recognising our other music. That's just a fact that internet has caused, and we know ourselves very well that we usually do many different things in music. And btw, worldwide recognition has never been our goal. =)

My fevorite part of the song is your part in ievan polkka

[5:09 - For example, i don´t remember a time when i didnt sing Lol :)] Well, iam playing on piano, singing and painting... well will be the next Q&A? I would like it :)! My question: Who was the first at Loituma and who next etc. the years.

Hi Hanni, I’ve really enjoyed the videos that you have been making recently. Something I have been very curious about is the members of Loituma. We’ve gotten to know you a little bit through the videos you’ve made, but there’s still so much I wonder about. How did you all meet? How long have you known each other? The earliest videos of Ievan Polkka seem to be from over 10 or 20 years ago. Do any of you have a career in music? Or do you have other jobs? I think it would be really cool to hear from the others in a video of some kind, even if they don’t speak English. Thank you for the interesting videos so far. I hope you keep making them!

I'm sure there are a lot of teachers who could help you. Of course the best would be someone who speaks the same language as you. It's important to understand deeply what it's all about and it's easier to do that with someone speaking the same language. I would say that it's possible to learn a lot alone also, but it's always good to have someone to guide you.
