It's interesting to hear you in a coach mode, Hannah! I can definitely spot the influence of some of your previous coaches in how you worded your feedback and what you paid attention to 😊 Maybe with a bit more experience you would have seen through Mike's bs and felt confident enough to give some harsh truths instead of letting things like the shoes just slip 😄

Oh heck yes. Hannah is a big inspiration. I like watching the "big boyz" videos (magnus, wideboyz, adam ondra, etc) but their content is so far above my level, it gets disheartening sometimes from a new climbers perspective (I'll never be strong enough.. I'll never be intuitive enough.. etc, it's easy to be defeatist after watching top climbers do their thing)... Meanwhile Hannah's channel, I have learned HUGE tips for going from beginner to intermediate, and it's been much more helpful on the start of my climbing journey. Watching her videos, I went from brand new climber to V4-5 boulderer / 5.11 route climber in a month. So many little tips and tricks that are crucial to learning and not getting stuck in bad habits!!! Great collaboration, thanks!

Also +1 on the Rungne trousers (pants, as we yanks call them). I bought a pair of bouldering and harness and they're SO good. As a man.. it's nice not to get my nuggets in a pinch on hard moves. The pants stretch and glide, and it's the closest thing you can get to climbing in the buff without the paddywagon showing up. (Is that how you brits would say it?) Anywho.. Great video, and happy holidays to my distant 14th generation removed cousins, from America. ;)

That last blue climb was at least v5 if not v6. Bad holds, big moves between them and the feet are not where you want them to be.

The good thing is that you traded hannah s mental health with a little bit of ridiculing yourself

I feel like Hannah was a bit too nice, you can just tell people the grade they are climbing for instance. The difference between a V3 and a V6 isn't necessarily "difficulty" it is often just how hard the holds are to stand/grip on, quite a lot of them are still just ladder climbs it is just the "rungs" (holds) are so tiny or akward that you need large amounts of grip or balance to stay on them and those levels aren't achieved outside of climbing so you are unlikely to naturally have them. With enough endurance and grip strength, there are some V6's out there that you could just campus, the problem is to have that power you would need to be at the strength levels of a V11 climber!

This is kind of a drag, honestly. The "prank" concept is way overdone, even when it includes the high-contrast surprise of an elite athlete revealing they climb v12+, rather than the "reveal" of a newbie really being a beginner.
