Following Zeus makes as much sense as following any other god. And goats! Some people who live up the highway from us have quite a large heard of goats. They are so cute, especially the new kids. I could give them to a god, but I don't think I could sacrifice one to anyone. They are just too cute, plus they make great lawn mowers.

We *also* had a return from the eclipse detour! Driving from somewhere in Pennsylvania to somewhere else in Pennsylvania, took a wrong turn and ended up in Ohio

When he was young, my son said to me that his friends didn't understand how he could not believe in God. I said "Ask them if they believe in Zeus. When they say no, tell them it's just like that" He told me that was brilliant.

As someone who has watched the entirety of multiple countries versions of Taskmaster, John and Hank would have been a much better choice than Reggie and Alex for the US version. And John is correct, he would be Taskmaster, and Hank would be the assistant. For people who haven't seen TM, the assistant is on set for every challenge, and contestants often utilize the assistant, so he has to be good humored and down for some odd bits. The original UK Taskmaster assistant is Alex Horne, who is the creator of the show. Being the assistant on TM is not a second fiddle position. Just don't want anyone unfamiliar to think it's some sort of insult.

Edited to add: I can’t tell you how often my partner (from Michigan) and I (from Illinois) agree on the correct way to drive and complain about all the drivers where we live (California) Honestly I lived in Tennessee for a hot second and I’m CONVINCED that in order to be a decent driver you need to learn to drive in a place where snow is a thing.

Your “gods” discussion reminded me of an incident at the University of South Dakota in the early 80s. Some one/group was writing “Think Jesus!” on the sidewalks all over campus. Another group (probably a frat) got tired of it and wrote “Think _____!” using the names of every god/goddess they could think of on virtually every section of sidewalk. For some reason, “Think Zarathustra!” Made me laugh the most.

Thanks for RAX live, it was such a good time! we should do that more often :)

I went to the Rax the next day for the eclipse, as one does, and I asked “did you guys have 2 self proclaimed internet celebrities come thru here? They’re two middle aged white men who are way to happy about your establishment, no offense” they had no idea, but one of them said “a lot of folks were taking pictures of the store” and surprisingly enough, they said they had no more business than usual

This is my vicarious recapture pleasure channel. I have really wanted this relationship with my brother since the 1970s. Examples like this are wonderful!

Kudos to the gnome videographer sitting on the folded-out glove compartment door. Not an easy job.

That fastball song was my Dad's favorite song as a kid. It took me too long to connect the dots that it was about parents who run away from their children.

I don’t think they really ran away from their children. The story I heard was there was dementia involved they originally planned to go to a fair that was nearby, and the driver who is the wife had dementia forgot where she was going and ended up a few states over in an area she had previously been on a trip to.

I definitely felt it with all of the God billboards in the Indiana, Ohio, kentucky area. My favorite is to spot the "hell is real" sign between Cincinnati and Columbus. Also someone wrote out the 10 commandments in an old timey font as a billboard on their farm
