Just wanna add that a lot of people don't know that the pterosaurs were actually not dinosaurs. Birds are dinosaurs and evolved to their present state from ancestors during the Jurassic period (apparently 150-200 Mya).

Birds _are_ dinosaurs. They're the ones that survived the extinction event. You are looking at and listening to the descendants of prehistoric creatures.

As a kid I had a parakeet and still recall observing its legs/feet, thinking they looked reptile-like, but not making the connection back then (guess I wasn't smart enough)... Could imagine it being easier for Australians tho since they run into these in the wild (but everyday birds elsewhere display obvious characteristics with dinosaurs) haha
