This time too the long journey was not in vain.
I left from the port of Livorno to reach the Sicilian coasts. The initial objective was to fly over Etna, but due to the eruptive activity of the volcano the airspace was closed. The beauty of flying is also this, being able to fly where the wind is best. Monte Gemini was a very popular flight site in the 80's and 90's for many hang gliders. it is possible to reach and fly over the famous "Andromeda Theatre". The second flight site is located in the Platani river valley, among the Sicani mountains. The take-off is called Rocca Grande- Passo Fonduto. The flight is purely dynamic with winds coming from the south-west.
