Another fan request video here as I show how to do a handstand kick-up and overcome the fear of falling!
I've received the comment several times in the last couple weeks asking how to kick up into a handstand against the wall. A lot of folks are having trouble overcoming the fear of getting upside for the first time, plus there's obviously the strength factor to consider (it's not easy to hold yourself upside down!).
I remember struggling with the same thing when I was learning the handstand and I didn't put enough emphasis on that in my 4-part handstand tutorial series. So this video
If you've been trying to learn how to kick up into handstand and have been having trouble, this video should help you. Remember the 4 steps I outline, practice them in front of a wall, then use them out in the open with the intention of bailing out. Those are the exact steps I used to overcome my fear of getting upside and build the strength for handstand kickups.
Hope this helps!

Everytime I almost can't believe how weak walls are in the US, a hole with a kick up, that would be madness here in Italy all the walls are made of solid bricks

I have only met one person who was scared of this in my life. It shocked me...I have to thank my mom for the gymnastics classes real early in life. Shout out to my mom!

YES! Today I finally did it! I managed to do a bunch of perfect kick ups on the wall in a row! I know this will look like a very tiny achievment for a lot of people, but I've been training calisthenics for size and strenght for the past year and half and never focused on the handstand because I was really too scared to hurt myself! This month I decided that I needed to cross that bridge and this tutorial was the best one amongst, what, a million others? Very simple, effective and realistic! I got so excited that my 10 min handstand pratice became a 30 min, almost! Now on to the freestand :D

Handstand kick ups made me realise I had shoulder impingement. I'm currently working on it before I can start doing handstands also.

Excellent video. Have been following a few Calisthenics channels. This is one of the best out there. The videos are very realistic and totally relatable. Would recommend Minusthegym to anyone who's starting Calisthenics..

Glad you made this step... After learning the frogstand and headstand, I've been struggling on the 'kick up' part....

Tysm for this. I loved how in depth you were in this describing the little details. I was so frustrated and got a fear of doing handstands after doing them many times. I will try this later when I wake up❤❤❤
