Bat Lag is key to creating speed where it counts...
...IN THE BAT!!!
If we don't create Bat Lag properly we will rely on our torso for speed which simply cannot move as fast as the bat can.
In today's All Access Lesson, we have a great feel drill to emphasize Lag and how it works in the swing.
Get ready for a great drill that may surprise you with the speed it can create...
... it even surprised me when filming!

I played baseball for 8 years in the 80's and 90's and the coaches never taught us this or never even mentioned bat lag. I wish youtube would have been around back then.

So few people teach about the wrists and it is shocking. Good stuff.

You are most welcome! It might take us some time to organize all of the videos... however, we do have free lessons and a full Step-by-Step hitting system on our website: ProSpeedBaseball.com This puts all of the instruction into an easy to follow system. Hope this helps for now! ~Michael Pro Speed Baseball P.S. I like the logo you made for you thumbnail!

good evening , is it true that when after you get contact with the ball you have to do a movement with your wrist? the movement is for more power @prospeedbaseball

Not entirely sure what you specifically mean... However, wrist action is being released through the swing. Unless there's a specific issue with a particular swing, you wouldn't have to think about the wrist too much after you let the bat go. Hope this helps out! ~Michael Pro Speed Baseball

Oh so close!!!!! It’s funny, it’s like a magic trick.... when you know it it’s like how come others don’t see it... Seriously so close... The funniest thing is you don’t actually do hat your saying... meaning you are not literally done my what you say... It’s so slight... but this drill slightly modified is great... Seriously the extra video at the end talks about improper sequencing... too funny... Thanks for the drill... it works well when tweaked a little... Hope all is well... ~DM

while utilizing the wrists is a good use of the kinetic chain to create exit velocity, what you are teaching, specifically, "throwing the hands at the ball" does not create the best bat path and is not what the best hitters in the game do in their swing.

Bob Wright are you sure about that... sometimes just a different way of expressing something may reveal the real source of the high level swing..

@@djuramalevic9919 I'm ABSOLUTELY SURE. Elite hitters DO NOT take their hands to the ball. Trash being taught over and over again. Go to Inside Corner Softball on FB and watch the BB vs softball comparison video.

Steve Alcorn of course you take your hands to the ball... It’s just how you do it that matters... Your are absolutely wrong... What your referring to is taking your hands to the ball without anything behind it ( I.e., your core AND your linear forces, notice that I include 2 forces )... There should be a MOMENT where you connect as you engage in trunk preparation and try to time your weight shift ( again 2 forces one includes elastic force the other actually weight)... And you can hold all of them...and release it which opens a can worms...

By the way if you take your hands to the ball the right way... the path should not be a line.... the body doesn’t move that way...

How come you’re the only person who still teaches pushing the hands to the ball? Odd. Either you’re the smartest instructor out there or the dumbest. That’s a very old school method that video analysis has long since debunked. Time to get with the times. Just saying.
