Germans used Browning Hi-Powers made in occupied Belgium, British used Hi-Powers made in Canada. FN 1922s made in occupied Belgium were also widely used by Germany.

And material constraints were a real problem for most countries. The US produced almost double the 1911s over the Soviet's Tokarev. But the Red forces total strength was over double the USA. But the US had the natural resources and manufacturing capacity to produce, so we did.

Likewise, Portugal was neutral in WW2, making licensed pistols like the Savage M1907, not show in the video, and Switzerland, also neutral, make licensed copies of the Luger pistol, not shown here, and Sweden, making the licensed Husqvarna M40 pistol, not shown here. Why featuring Spanish pistols, for a neutral country in WW2 but not other neutrals, is odd. Why don't Finland, a WW2 participant, pistols feature. If not for the Browning Hi Power they acquired from Canada, they would have had virtually no semi-automatic pistols. The Webley self-loading pistol was a poor design and small in numbers.
