    Is this Handel's take on Pachelbel's Canon?

  • @Musica-xo3uv

    @Musica-xo3uv

    3 жыл бұрын

    No, this is technically a passacaglia, using the ground bass technique (basso ostinato) , very common during the Baroque era. Nothing similar with a canon. Many composers used a similar harmonic progression.

  • @danik.5545

    @danik.5545

    No. This piece is technically a Passacaglia, variations on a basso ostinato. Pachelbel's Canon has a similar harmonic progression, but many Baroque composers also have similar compositions because it was a popular musical technique at the time. It wasn't Pachelbel's invention.

    How can we tell it's a huge organ and not a tiny person?

  • @MaxSolar-dd5wq

    That's the catch. Johnathan is really a dwarf and hides in his hobbit-hole of where he plays the organ. He has several organs because they are much easier to build as they are smaller.. The sound is the same to Johnathan's ears as a normal size organ's noise is to us because of his size, again.
