I’m not sure what Rev Charles Jennens was up to when he added this verse from Malachi [3:3] ‘and he shall purify the sons of Levi that they might offer up to [YHWH] an offering of Righteousness’ to the libretto compilation of messianic oracles when there is so much other messianic material from the Hebrew tanakh such as Isaiah chapter 11:1-5 or Numbers 24:17 or Psalms 89:3-4 etc. but my God !! what a beautifully masterful g-minor chorus Handel created out of this single verse -as he did so often elsewhere in Messiah and so many great choruses found amongst his 40 or so Lenten oratorios -he was truly ‘ranked highest amongst the greatest choral composers of all time’ !!

I love this so much, but the alto was not loud enough 🥺
But the rall is not good. The express train slows down, it does not curtsey
Tenors too loud and altos not loud enough, but that could be because of the microphone's location or settings. Musicians, conductor and choir are perfect, keep everything but change your sound engineer and film director.

I can hear the altos. I guess that it’s because I’m currently in rehearsals for “Handel’s Messiah”.

Also hate the continuity harpsichord. Negates the whole ecstasy
