Dashon is my best friend and old college roommate. For twenty years now, his singing has given me chills and brought me to tears. Listening to him here, and reading through all the comments praising him, brings me so much joy. He's so talented, and I'm so proud to call him my friend! 🤩

A wonderful voice indeed. As a chorister we are often mesmerised by the soloists. It's almost like a professional masterclass for us! One can only dream of having such talent!

He has sung with us at Princeton Pro Musica and I sure hope he would again soon. Lordy!

There is only one thing I want before I meet my Maker....to be sitting in a live audience when Mr. Dashon Burton opens his mouth to sing. Anything will do but if if it could be "The Trumpet shall Sound" that would be my idea of perfection.

My dad would've loved hearing this rendition and Dashon Burton's voice. He would've been itching to go up on stage and sing it himself as he would every Christmas season back home for their local production. He had retired from singing many moons ago. He gave one last performance two years ago at my Uncles funeral where he sang Bach's "Ave Maria". He struggled, but got through it. Come to find out my dad was dying of Stage 4 lung cancer. He passed away last year on my 44th birthday.

Dashon Burton is a phenomenon. His rendition of this solo piece is the best i have listened to in Thirty-One (31) years. He was flawless in the articulation of the consonants and his breath control is second to none. Above all, his mastery of this piece is awesome. I am sure the great G.F. Handel in his grave, is pleased with the flawless execution of this piece.

Superb performance. Mr. Burton is wonderful. What a God given talent.

Simply one of the best Handel baritones around.

I have heard many performances as a chorister with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra and this performance surpasses my previous clear favourite. Bravo, bravissimo!

Mr. Burton is a truly remarkable talent. I had the good fortune to hear him perform in the Handel & Haydn Society's Messiah at Symphony Hall in Boston in November 2019. He sings with a joy that is both infectious and uplifting. We are truly blessed to have such a gifted man like this to appreciate.

Indeed need to give some major props to not only the bass but the trumpeter, it's difficult to appreciate how incredibly difficult this piece is. Not to mention he performed it on a natural trumpet no less without vents. Impressive.

I listen to this at least twice a day. Dashon is pure perfection.

I had heard Mr. Burton sing this in an earlier rendition and thought it marvelous, but my Lord, he surpasses sublime here! Even some of the instrumentalists appeared to be moved. The woman sitting behind him hadn't stopped smiling and nodding her head as if she was saying "Amen!"

Mr Burton is fantastic- truly inspired singing - you could feel Handel's intention fully developed. This passes the goosebumps test - sends a chill down my spine, and I'm happy to see the singers, the orchestra and audience felt it also. The trumpet was outstanding as well, and I loved the Baroque ornamentation. The best version I've ever heard. Congratulations, Boston Baroque!

Mr Burton has the most extraordinary voice unlike any other I've heard sing the Messiah I have ever heard.

This guy is phenomenal! Love ❤️ this! I've played this multiple times. It gives me peace. No one can sing it like him and I've heard multiple renditions. I'm like the lady in the back... her face tells me all I need to know. BRAVO!!!

Wow, what a fantastic voice. Every word could be clearly heard.

In the 2nd part B, you can see the two male soloists in the background smiling at the vocal flourishes by Mr. Burton: 06:59. I believe those soloists are Thomas Cooley (tenor) and Christopher Lowrey (countertenor). Along with Mr. Barton, both of those guys are FABULOUS singers.

Welcome to the Dashon Burton “Fan Club” Awesome Voice and a personality to match.

Wonderfully intense and earnest piano singing in the B section; amazing , imaginative and rousing improv and embellishment at the da capo... I was hanging on ever note ... and then Mr Pyle and his trumpet got into the act too!

This is the second rendition I have heard with baroque trumpet. Both renditions were performed with Dashon Burton's Bass-Baritone. Both renditions were excellent. I appreciate Robinson Pyle's approach to baroque trumpet sound production.

In mere moments I found myself sitting upright and leaning into the screen to get closer to this magnificent performance. I felt my whole face smile broadly as I watched this superlative musician in complete command of the music, his voice, and the moment. And he k-n-e-w it. You could see the glee in his eyes. O holy night, at the end I was ecstatic; truly, with tears of joy. The most invigorating nine minutes and twelve seconds I've had in a long time. Thank you, T-H-A-N-K You, Mr. Burton.

I totally understand. I just discovered this rendition and had to listen over and over. It is beautiful but allow me to share something with you. As my mother was transitioning from this life she asked us if we could hear the music. We had no idea of what she meant. She went on to speak about the music she was hearing. She described it as out of this world ... like nothing she had ever heard before. Whenever I am touched by performances such as these, I remember my mum, knowing that we shall one day hear music that is immensely sweeter than this. God is ever reaching out to us in love. Our response is simply to exercise faith.

Big shout-out for the superb trumpet player. Lovely tone, accurate pitching and excellent phrasing playing the very difficult baroque trumpet. It's a hard enough piece to play well on a modern trumpet.

What makes this the second hardest song for baritones, but more so, bass-baritones that they will sing in their lifetimes is where the vowels happen as your voice transitions registers.
