Greetings all. In this video I am sharing how I clean handcuffs. Equipment maintenance is crucial. For those that follow and have read about my background, I am an active duty police officer and one day I was shot on duty during a domestic violence call. Lucky for me, after being shot once, the suspect's gun jammed as it must have been dirty. That moment saved my life. Regardless of how long you have been on the job, if you become lazy and do not maintain the cleanliness of your gear, (firearm, handcuffs or whatever you might use), it could cost you your life.
In this video I encourage the use of Gun Scrubber to clean and maintain your handcuffs. Simply spraying the handcuffs with this will rid your cuffs of old blood, skin, sweat, rust and other debris that might build up in them making them slow or impossible to use. As one of my former martial arts instructors once said, 'a dull knife is a dangerous knife, The same goes for handcuffs. Dirty, rusty handcuffs are worthless.
As always, caring is sharing. I created this video to help fellow first responders stay safe out there. I am creating an app as well and it should be ready in early September. The app, "COPKIDO" will offer 3-5 minute training videos to help a variety of occupations use the very least amount of force when forced to deal with violent persons.
Occupations included will be: Teachers, Healthcare / Nurses, Security, Law Enforcement, Mental Health, Flight attendants, Parking enforcement, EMS, Realtors and more.
