Hand & wrist bones & muscles of the hand
Continuing on from the forearm I thought we should go through the muscles and bones of the hand, including the carpal bones of the wrist, the muscles of the thenar eminence and the hypothenar eminence, the lumbricals, and interosseus muscles.
See also this web thingy with animations and other bits and bobs that we made, also explaining the musculoskeletal anatomy of the hand.

Cheers for the video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you researched - Tarbbatigan Implausible Level Tip (probably on Google)? It is a smashing exclusive guide for discovering getting rid of toenail fungus minus the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my GF after many years got great results with it.
This video is absolutely brilliant! Came here to see the exact placement of a bone I broke in my wrist (Xrays are quite 2D), stayed till the end! I envy your students for having such a good lecturer. Great presentation, keep up the fantastic work!
I realy realy like your humor and your style of teaching. it's raw and simple and manages to get into my head with ease. Thank you!
I never get bored listening your videos, your students are lucky! You've got a gift! God bless you
I simply love the way you teach. 😊 Thanks for keeping me sane while studying hand muscles.
Hello sam, I must really commend you on this one. All your videos have been really helpful, and I'm watching this all the way from Nigeria.
You are a great teacher. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
A mnemonic I use to remember the carpal order starting from the thumb side (Scaphoid) and circulating back (to Trapezium) "So Long To Pinky Here Comes The Thumb"

Love you sir You are awesome Alot of respect and love for you from First year MBBS student of Rehman Medical College Peshawar:Pakistan😍
It is written in Snell clinal anatomy by regions, tenth edition that "first and second (lateral two) lumbricals are innervated by median nerve, third and fourth by deep branch of ulnar nerve." but you mentioned that all lumbricals are innervated by ulnar nerve. BTW thanks for your videos. Really helps in exam revision. 😊
Very well explained...thank u.. specially for" adductor policies muscle spoied by ulnar n median both " .
I just double checked this against BRS Anatomy and Netter's, but the adductor pollicis is innervated by only the ulnar nerve, NOT by both the ulnar and median nerves. Thanks for the great video! :)

You're quite right - I wasn't very clear moving from the thenar eminence across to the adductor pollicis muscle. Cheers!

Yeah it's given in all the books that adductor pollicis is innervated by ulnar nerve only. However I have heard a lot of professors in college and in u tube say it can sometimes be innervated by median nerve. But anyways main innervation is ulnar nerve
You’re a life saver. PTA student from St. Petersburg, FL
the video is clear and excellent and so help me thanks👍👍👍
thank you. very helpful. you’ve animated what is a very dry topic in me text book 👌
Amazing job . Wow. Made me love itb
Thank you sir. That was very informative.
Honesty Mr. Sam Webster in 2017 I pass EMBLEX Thank because your videos were helpful and great to learn about muscled Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU FROM N.J
Brilliant lesson. Thank you, Dr Webster! Would you please say something about focal dystonia in the hand? A musician friend sought treatment internationally for several years; he, like some other highly intense and skilled musicians, developed this issue, and it made it impossible for him to play piano and organ (his profession). Thank you for considering it. Also, as I write this, my non-dominant hand (thank goodness) is recovering from a distal radial fracture with displacement. I had surgery and am the owner of a titanium plate and eight screws. Have you made a video about broken bones and how they get repaired (by the body, that is) ? Thank you!
Thanks Dr. House!
Good explanation and urs s fun way of learning.. i think so
THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR! I have an exam tomorrow and ur great videos help me. keep the good work!
Amazing videos by u sir Keep it ups
I have never guess that I could imagine and understand body anatomy one day like now , thanks for your effort that was brilliant ☀️
Love it! Do your models have model and serial numbers with part numbers for reordering? Plus a manual.

You're absolutely good in this work! Your videoes are really usefull and help easy to learn anatomy.Thank you for them.Greetings from Bulgaria ! :)
Thank you so much
As an always you save my life ❤🙏🏼✔️
Hi Sam, I've just noticed that the outer bone on my wrist where the joint is, the wrist joint directly below the pinky joint, is about twice as large as the one on my left hand. I do train moderate to high at a gym lifting weights and doing cardio. I am also reliant on this hand as im a 3d artist, Why might this happen? I saw a Doctor who said it was not a ganglion cyst and it will only get bigger, not get smaller. What do you think about this?
Urgh this is why I’m so scared to do this surgery! I fractured my proximal phalanx of my pinky at the base about a year ago. It healed with a malunion and malrotation. Breaks my heart the first two surgeons I saw elected not to do any percacious pinning. Now a year later. To cut in there l, resaw through bone just to correct the rotation seems insane to me with all those tendons. I can still play guitar but nowhere near as good as I used to because of the rotation. Makes certain chord shapes near impossible. I’ve heard the warning from other surgeons that it could be more stiff and more problems then if they go in there. I found a pretty competent surgeon. But I guess there’s always a risk
Amazing videos
Honestly how long did it take you to memorize all of those hand muscles??
Thanks for work hard for me and others Dr God bless you 🙏🙏🙏🙏

But is there really a Flexor digiti minimi longus?
@ForYouPH

I think that it`s just M. Flexor digitoorum profundus. There isn`t a special flexor for digitus minimus..

I tried to make my own diet, but it didn't work. I went to Agoge diet and let them create diet plan for me. I am delighted with the result...
what microphone is used in this vid?
not all Lumbricals are innervated by Ulnar Nerves. The Unipennate Lumbricals are innervated by the Median Nerve @Sam Webster Sir
Best ever, and funny
can you make a video about why other fingers flex also when one of them is flexed?
@rashmika9742
5 жыл бұрын
koray melih yatağan do you mean the middle finger and ring finger? If so, its because they're both innervated by the median nerve, so since they have the same innervation, they tend to move together.
Bruh I thought I was gunna get an anatomy tute from House when I saw the thumbnail.
thank u Sam love u from Egypt /\/\/\
👌👌
I just broke my 5th metacarpal and sometimes when I extend accidentally my oppononus digiti minimi hurts SOOOOO BAD!! It's a blast to say though. Sounds like a band name. Digiti minimi 😂😂😂
