Hand & wrist bones & muscles of the hand

Continuing on from the forearm I thought we should go through the muscles and bones of the hand, including the carpal bones of the wrist, the muscles of the thenar eminence and the hypothenar eminence, the lumbricals, and interosseus muscles.
See also this web thingy with animations and other bits and bobs that we made, also explaining the musculoskeletal anatomy of the hand.

    Cheers for the video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you researched - Tarbbatigan Implausible Level Tip (probably on Google)? It is a smashing exclusive guide for discovering getting rid of toenail fungus minus the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my GF after many years got great results with it.

    It is written in Snell clinal anatomy by regions, tenth edition that "first and second (lateral two) lumbricals are innervated by median nerve, third and fourth by deep branch of ulnar nerve." but you mentioned that all lumbricals are innervated by ulnar nerve. BTW thanks for your videos. Really helps in exam revision. 😊

    I just double checked this against BRS Anatomy and Netter's, but the adductor pollicis is innervated by only the ulnar nerve, NOT by both the ulnar and median nerves. Thanks for the great video! :)

    Yeah it's given in all the books that adductor pollicis is innervated by ulnar nerve only. However I have heard a lot of professors in college and in u tube say it can sometimes be innervated by median nerve. But anyways main innervation is ulnar nerve

    Brilliant lesson. Thank you, Dr Webster! Would you please say something about focal dystonia in the hand? A musician friend sought treatment internationally for several years; he, like some other highly intense and skilled musicians, developed this issue, and it made it impossible for him to play piano and organ (his profession). Thank you for considering it. Also, as I write this, my non-dominant hand (thank goodness) is recovering from a distal radial fracture with displacement. I had surgery and am the owner of a titanium plate and eight screws. Have you made a video about broken bones and how they get repaired (by the body, that is) ? Thank you!

    Hi Sam, I've just noticed that the outer bone on my wrist where the joint is, the wrist joint directly below the pinky joint, is about twice as large as the one on my left hand. I do train moderate to high at a gym lifting weights and doing cardio. I am also reliant on this hand as im a 3d artist, Why might this happen? I saw a Doctor who said it was not a ganglion cyst and it will only get bigger, not get smaller. What do you think about this?

  • @DanielGennaro
    @DanielGennaro Жыл бұрын

    Urgh this is why I’m so scared to do this surgery! I fractured my proximal phalanx of my pinky at the base about a year ago. It healed with a malunion and malrotation. Breaks my heart the first two surgeons I saw elected not to do any percacious pinning. Now a year later. To cut in there l, resaw through bone just to correct the rotation seems insane to me with all those tendons. I can still play guitar but nowhere near as good as I used to because of the rotation. Makes certain chord shapes near impossible. I’ve heard the warning from other surgeons that it could be more stiff and more problems then if they go in there. I found a pretty competent surgeon. But I guess there’s always a risk

    koray melih yatağan do you mean the middle finger and ring finger? If so, its because they're both innervated by the median nerve, so since they have the same innervation, they tend to move together.
