They say "you live and learn"! Today you taught me to be sure and read the label. If someone asked me yesterday I would have responded that JB Weld is the go to stuff to stick stuff to steel. How wrong can I be! Nice tool restoration job. I found a set of screwdrivers that look just like this but, they are a Chinese knockoff. Even though they are not Irwin the grip gives powerful torque to stubborn slotted screws. Thanks for sharing your experience.

@@357magdad possibly. My only concern is if the handle absorbs too much moisture and the wood swells, it might want to ride those angles and separate from the metal underneath. I know you used the good epoxy so it should not, but I think it would have been slightly more robust if you peened the brass pins to mushroom the heads a little before final sanding to mechanically lock the scales onto the handle. Maybe you did, and I missed it, or maybe you did not show it? Sorry I am commenting a while after watching the video!

Well done! Great idea to rough cut then crush the scales onto the frame. Allows a perfect fit. Great attention to detail. I have that same screwdriver picked at a barn sale a long time ago. Did not completely restore as it was in pretty good shape. Not sure how old mine is tho. It does have the stamping saying on shaft. I have pic's if you're interested. Not sure how to get them to you if you want them.
