    Ahhhh... Should be in the nails like you crushing out weed, but to each his or her own. I shut off my water with a paper towel in public areas and open the doors with it, but I use my hands at home. If I'm going in my kitchen after, I'm washing again. Just me

    This is what our ancestors did because they weren't allowed to have soap at all for a long time unless you were a house slave. These little pieces of soap were like gold. My Grandparents always saved these soaps and my parents did, I continue to. Thanks for the upgrade to this historical concept!

    Great video. Reminds me of when My mom told me how her father would take the soap slivers and put them in a jar with some water and leave it. The soap would eventually melt down in the water and they used it as body wash.. Nothing went to waste back then! I personally take the slivers and keep adding them to a knee high to keep using it .

    I have done this for years. I add tea tree essential oil for anti bacteria. I put it in gallon jugs or half gallon containers I recycled. I make so much that I share it with family. Good time to show people how to save and also stay home.

    I thought I was one in the few people that will still use that soap up until it was gone. I've been making hand soap for ever. I even took some older torn bath towels, cut them down and sewn them together like a mitt so we could put it inside the "mitt" and use the rest of the soap. We don't waste anything around here...been doing it for decades.

    I first learned you could recycle soap from a tv show on Clean the World, an organization that collects used soaps from hotels, melts them down, sanitizes them, and creates brand new bars of soap for people in need. It sounded pretty cool,so I started doing the same..Recycling soap is great for spraying on insects in the garden.

    I don't why I thought he would put the hot soap liquid into cookie pans to remake the soap bar again, but into a liquid hand soap bottle is absolutely genius or bodywash bottle too. This is Inspiration 🙌 I may even add some essential oils and herbs it. Thanks bro!!!

I stopped buying bar soaps in 2000s and went to body wash but in the recent times with what's going on right now I decided to stock up on bar soaps so I know not to throw them away That's why I love my black ppl we are so resourceful and innovative. ✊🏿 Thank you!

    Yes, a body wash would be perfect! I use Dove soap anyways. It’ll be perfect to repurpose. I’m so mad at myself... I JUST tossed a few of these small bars a little over a month ago before this pandemic hit because I thought I was hoarding.😂😩 I’m gonna do this from now on now that I have a simple plan!

    I wonder if these is a reason the soap doesn't harden up in the bottle for the hand soap it makez, but would harden up in a mold to become a bar of soap again? Or is it the amount of water that makes the difference? Or it being exposed to air?

    Great idea. Small soap pieces have always been a pet peeve for me. I can’t stand to see them laying on the sink or in the tub so I just threw them away. Now I will start saving them. Thanks.

    I’ve seen videos where 5 star hotels recycled used soap bars and made them into fresh bars of soap to give away to those in need. I’ve never knew that soap bars can be melted into liquid hand soap great vid

    We've saved the little "nubs" of our bar soap for a LONG time now. we dissolve them into very liquid consistency and use it in our foaming hand soap dispenser. little bit goes a LOOOOONG way and we don't have to go out buying refill all the time

    That's cool. I just take those bars of soap that are "too small" to shower with and put them in a soap dish next to my sink to use them as is to wash my hands... I'm just simple like that.

    I used to save the little tiny soap before I got married. My husband made fun of me and pressured me to stop but my grandmother taught me to reduce, reuse, and recycle EVERYTHING.

    My grandma, during the 60's, saved her soap and would turn it into liquid soap. She would take her chopped up soap, put them into old lotion bottles. Fill them with water and after time, viola, liquid soap! There's so many things we "used" to do that we are going back to for basic survival.

    My grams does this. When we ran out of laundry detergent we did this and used it for our clothes and hung them out to dry. Because of her I save all my small bars.

    I use every last drop. When my bar gets small I just smush it into my wash cloth and rub it against my body and it lathers like normal. Not even thinking I’m being cheap, but Who throws out perfectly good soap?!?

    You can even create soap, here in Italy is common to create your own, using olive oil, sodium hydroxide and other ingridients too if you want it colored or maybe if you want it to smell good, you need to wait at least 6 months for the soap to be usable but it is worth it

    You remind me of my grand mother in the fact that she reused EVERYTHING until it was used up. She taught me alot about things like that, drives my wife nuts but has paid off many times. My grand mother by the way lived a very tough time during the great depression The stories young people today would not believe

    alright this what im talking about i was raised to use everything waste nothing my kids think im crazy but im a penny pincher love this idea im going to start doing this as well im going to run out to a thrift store and buy an old crock pot just for this and a food processer to grate up the soap im also going to buy some scented oils and make my left overs smell like i want them.

    I did not know this. I usually use my soaps until they're damn near gone. No lie. But I could save them and do this instead of struggling to wash with a tiny chip. Much respect to you brother and God bless.

    He could of used the sock to make soap 2. I saw on inside edition a guy using old tiny soap n putting it all into a sock n merging it together. N the soap became bigger.

    I knew that I was on to something about 3 to 4 years ago as I was saving those little pieces of soap. However, when my family and I moved I threw it all away. I knew I should have kept it to make my own soap with those pieces as that was my intention.     I feel so guilty now. Not two weeks ago, I threw out a lonely sliver of soap. I held it in my hand for a minute and thought, what am I going to do with this? Then into the trash it went. Then I saw that five-gallon bucket of used soap. I could just hear my sweet mother saying, "There are dirty children in China who would just love to have that soap!" Guilt. 😐

    I with this guy. I always keep my small pieces of soap . Waste not, want not. You can also make the full bars of soap. Just need a mold which you can make from a old food storage container.
