I'm a middle aged Japanese metal/punk fan. I thought that I understand better our language than younger guys, But I couldn't understand what they say at all! All what I know is they are so talented and ful of pure energy!.

So you speak Japanese and have a hard time picking up what they are saying? If I am understanding that right, that is really interesting. As someone who doesn't speak Japanese, if she was annunciating oddly, I wouldn't be able to tell. Hearing that from someone who speaks Japanese really makes me curious now.

I'm sorry for my bad English. I mean, I speak Japanese and actually get half of lyrics of this song. I live in Tokyo where these girls from. But I don't understand their young girls's slangs at all. Their words sound funny and chaotic just like their music for me. I guess this song is about discord with their friends.

Hanabie are so fresh and refreshing. Keep em coming. There isn't a music video for it but Hanabie - Sunrise Miso Soup is a romp. Envy, Reiwa Matching Generation and their cover of Ado - Odo are great.

L.C.G. - Lollipop Candy Giiiiiiiiirl! The tanned girls doing the hand dancing are in a Harajuku style from the mid 1990s called Ganguro. Hanabie's unique style lends them to be labelled Harajukucore because, well, what else could you label them as? I think I said before, their first and current album is absolutely brilliant and the words fresh and refreshing absolutely apply. Nemophila and Hanabie made the pandemic just that bit more bearable.

@@CaptainFaceBeard presumably made up exclusively of little people. It’d be a spectacle, a bit like a rhythmic car crash, I feel. I’m trying to imagine umpa metal though actuallly, and falling at that hurdle. Doom and little people are probably mutually exclusive too but the juxtaposition does fit the genre as a whole. 😬

BAND-MAID has breathed new life into the genre of hard rock, and Nemophila are amazing and incredibly talented, but Hanabie are creating music unlike anything I’ve heard before. If you want to look into a new band for you that is similar to Hanabie I would recommend PassCode and their song Taking You Out.
