Nice edit. Alden really sold me on Han Solo, and this fit perfectly with an older, more bitter Han who has lost much of his younger optimism.

This one moment in Han’s past must have made him sad on the inside. He lost his girlfriend in the most hollow manner possible

And Han was hired by the man who killed his ex-girlfriend’s boss.

It’s awesome how a single look in a character’s eyes can tell a story beyond what we originally knew.

Han has romantic feelings for Leia and it's extremely familiar for him. Painfully familiar. I, like most audience members, have new respect for the above scene from "A New Hope".

Man I really like that Solo Film. Mad underrated. Was hoping for a sequel. But At least we got Qi’ra in the war of bounty hunters comic

TheAmazingGrant Holmes EXACTLY what I was thinking when I was watching A New Hope with my nephew the other day!

That actually gave me chills. Solo, Andor, and the Jedi games are the best Disney projects so far. Real characters, with motivations, feelings, development, and stakes.

Oh my gosh. THAT WAS ABSOLUTLEY PERFECT/HEARTBREAKING AT THE SAME TIME!!!! If they do yet another re-edit of A New Hope, this should totally be in it. This works brilliantly!

Why I admittedly think Solo was a very average movie which could have been a lot better, this was pretty good. Even Harrison's depressed "Trying not to, kid" sells this scene as believable.

Guess Han isn’t too dissimilar from Anakin in that when he fell in love, he fell hard, and based on that scene, he really had it bad for Qi’Ra...before life happened.

Emilia Clarke is very ill right now.....which is really sad. So I’m with you, my dude!!!

in 1977, there was no Solo movie, no EU, nothing beyond what was shown in the og film. however, Harrison Ford did a great job here showing that yes, Han did have someone he cared for in the past, someone he hasn’t gotten over just yet. as of now, we have a name and a face for who that was, but we didn’t at the time. that much subtext given through a few lines of dialogue and a sad facial expression is why i love Star Wars so much.

Great work! All is perfectly fitting, seems like they did it on pourpose

Emilia and young han solo actor are very talented actors. Just pay attention to the voice tone and their face expressions.

That's actually a really cool theory. It gives more depth to that scene, now every time I see it I'll think of it in a new way. Cayse he truly looks like he's a little hurt or he disagrees.

My main problem with the actor in Solo is his height (5ft 8). He's a lot shorter than Harrison Ford (6ft 2). Ford was kind of lanky in Star Wars and this actor was stocky. I just couldn't imagine him as Han Solo no matter how hard I tried.

You're right, the music really helped me imagine this.

The AC Crispin novels that Disney chucked when they bought Lucasfilm had a similar bit where he fell for a girl named Bria Tharen, and it dovetails into his grumpiness at Chalmun's.
