@@Stay4ever305 It's a long running joke because Hyunjin sometimes speaks with an aussie accent because he mainly learnt English from Chan and Felix! Then Seungmin spent some time in America as a kid so he has an American accent! Han learnt English from a British person in Malaysia so he speaks with an accent! Lee Know thought they had enough people that knew English so he learnt Japanese! (people also say he looks Japanese) Then Changbin and I.N can speak enough English to get by but they mainly speak Korean! They all have a reason to speaking with an accent so it doesn't really sound like a joke! 🤣
Han speaks Han English. It's a combination of British English, Malaysian English, American English, Australian English and Korean English. His English is a hot mess and we love it. 🥰
I’m pretty sure Han spent most of his childhood in Malaysia and many people believe he picked up his accent there.

It really didn't. In England, we pronounce 'artistic' with an 'ah' sound, not an 'or' sound. However, had he intended to say 'autistic' then I agree, it did sound very English.
Han spent part of his life in Malaysia, which is a former British colony, and he definitely has a British accent. Seungmin often leans more American, which I've noticed a lot of idols do - likely from TV shows and films they've watched to help them learn as so much stuff is from the US. Hyunjin is the 'honorary Aussie' and has definitely picked up more from Chan and Felix, but all the boys get a hint of it at times. Lee Know said he found English hard and instead worked on his Japanese so he could help the others out during Japanese interviews/gameshows etc.
@Sandyyyyyyyyyy
Ай бұрын
In Korea, they teach American English so that might be why so many idols speak with an American accent. I know Seungmin spent a bit of time in the US as a child, so that probably contributed to his fluency. Changbin has an interesting accent. It's Konglish with both an American accent and Australian accent. He's all mixed up, just like Han 😆

I think somebody said that Han's British accent comes from his time in Malaysia. He went to an international school there and he's been speaking to British students a lot.
As a British person I can tell you Han doesn't have a British accent BUT he does have British inclination (I'm guessing he got that from when he lived in Malaysia, reinforced with the Aussie sounds). His A sounds are British sounding for the most part, the closed sound and more rounded A's compared to American's that have a more open A sound. He does sometimes fall into a more American inclination like when he said Class (that sounded more American) Even if you go to the North of England where the A''s sound more open it's still different than American English. Also the R sounds Han emphasizes compared to most British accent that forget there is an R sound, (unless you are Scottish, Irish or closer to the North)... My accent is modern RP so most of my words with the R sound sounds more like Ah but going closer to the North the R sound becomes more prominent. I'm also half Asian and half Italian so I grew up between listening to my parents speaking and being bilingual myself, so I'm used to accents and inclinations. For the most part he does sound like he has lived and studied in the UK if someone didn't know him. (Sorry for the round-a-bout I have a very bad headache for over a week now, I'm having issues concentrating) Love your video's

he grew up in Malaysia and they speak british-english there since that’s where he learned it, he’s now stuck with a british accent 😭 I also have a british accent because i lived in a country that spoke british-english through out primary school. 1:20 Omg secret secret is so amazing🤩 I love that song 💅 That's so beautiful✨
Han doesn't quite have a British accent but it's definitely not American. Hiding in there is a tiny Aussie twang which I bet comes from Bang Chan and Felix. He sounds like he's trying to be British but it's not quite working when he tries too hard. He sounds Aussie when he says' 'Guy'. The sounds that trip him and others up are the double 't' sounds and the, 'o' sounds so that when he says a word like, 'Potter', it goes all wrong. Still his English is excellent and, as my Korean is almost nonexistent, I'm very impressed. BTW your twerking was amazing.

Han had a British tutor, so that rubbed off, but having spent so much time in Korea, and with Australians, and Seungmin's American accent, the accent he had more strongly at the start is waring down and turning into a fusion.
He learned English from a British teacher in Malaysia (where he lived for a long time) and also from watching Harry Potter which is why he’s a bit British.
I rmb Han saying "My name is PeTer" in this Yes or No interview it sounded so British. The storytelling of the christmas story definitely sounded more british. Hope u can react to Han talking about his childhood days in Malaysia and even speaking simple malay words! This was one of the reasons why Han caught my attention.
Another fave of mine is Hans "you AuTisTic" line
In a other Univers Stray Kids make Videos about Ben Kim😂
I love to hear Han speak! His accent isn’t British, it’s Malaysian. Even though the root is British English, it would be like saying a Jamaican English accent is the same as a British English accent. A lot of similarities, but pretty different if you hear these people speaking to one another. The way he annunciates the r in words is so Malaysian. Also how words follow out his mouth when he is speaking is classic Malaysian English accent.

han spent a lot of time in malaysia growing up and his english tutor was british so he kinda picked up the accent. it’s not always very strong so that’s why sometimes he sounds normal but it’s always there even if it’s just slightly. some words he says, you can hear it better and sometimes (like the storybook reading) it’s VERY obvious haha
Han studied in an international school in Malaysia as a child that's why he can speak english the other members that can speak are chan, felix as they're Australians, seungmin as he visited LA for three months and hyunjin as he's a english major

In Malaysia, standard English here is British, depending which school u go, u might pickup different accents. Han went to international school and have a British tutor, hence he pick up the accents. As an English person, to me Han's accent sounds more a mix of Aussie and American. Occasionally he drops a word that sounds straight out of London, but not that often. Having said that, there's a clip of him somewhere on the net reading a story (I think) where the (true) English accent is very obvious. I'm assuming he gets it from his education in Malaysia, where England has had a strong historical influence on many things, especially the language.
I'm Atiny and love han a lot.
Han used to study in Malaysia, and they teach British English there. So i think he picked up some of Chan and Felix's accents as well.
When Han lived in Malasyia he went to an international school, and most teachers spoke english. Majority of his teachers were British, so that's most likely where he got the accent from. That and he is obsessed with Harry Potter lol
You are right, they all could speak English, nowadays even Changbin, I.N and LeeKnow picked it up amazingly
Bangchan and felix : Australian accent Meanwhile skz Han : British Seungmin:American Hyunjin: mix of australian and korean And leeknow changbin and i.n korean accent
There's clearly hints on certain sounds, eg 'matter', depending where you are brought up and as the tt's in Matter can get lost sometimes same as in Butter my own mother used to do that to both words. Bless her she has 3 children forever correcting her. We don't have a 'British' accent it's called a English accent or Scottish accent or Welsh or Northern Ireland accent. As we have many different accents. The English accent is what is heard most but within that there are many regional accents.
Han used to live in Malaysia for 6 years and most school in Malaysia learn English with British accent

He lived in Malaysia for seven years so he picked up the British accent
WE NEED A SEUNGMIN AND HYUNJIN VIDEO
Britian colonized Australia, so part of that accent slipped off into the Australian dialect. Then I think Han spending so much time with 2 Aussies while trying to speak English made a fusion accent of British and sometimes Australian 😂😂 sometimes he even sounds American
I actually thought he was English when I first really paid attention to SKZ😂
Not Ben Kim mixing up Australian with British 😂😂
I think Monsta X members also speak English. They for sure sing quite a few songs in English. I'm a stay first but I love Monsta X music too!

He seems to go between English to American to Australian. You can hear all of them.
The way he said 'hidden talent' was more British than me and ya girls from London.
the “british accent” comes out more when he’s reading english. probably due to his teacher having a british accent and him learning to read in english from them. it’s not due to chan and felix because australian accents are different from british accents.
