I just put this on my bow a few weeks ago. best rest I've used to date. supper solid. no side movement at all. I looked up on Archey talk how some guys were setting up the limb attachments, and I went with the the rest cable through the yolk cable where it attachés to the bearing on the axle. works perfectly. haven't had any issues at all. thanks for the video.

Love this rest, took a little work as I am a rookie bow tuner, but it was more my bow and most likey me, than the rest. One thing I noticed is reach time I adjusted the elevation you need to readjust the cable dive string to ensure you have the right tension.

Since you are using the Versa Rest arm have you seen any difference in launcher arm drop by repositioning the cord around the inside or outside of the screw as they suggest for limited or dynamic travel bows? I have assumed routing it inside closer to the 8 sided shaft will keep the rest up longer (more slack at draw). Routing it outside should allow the launcher arm to begin its drop sooner (less cord slack at draw).

Installing mine today but I'll keep my old whisker biscuit in my pack. I've had two other brands break during elk season but I understand this one is indestructible. Hope so.

You said the blade of the limb driven rest is in contact with the arrow longer than a cable driven drop away. With all the gyrations that an arrow does with the launch, why is that a good thing?

  • @AlphaBowhunting

I did. The arrow is guided for approx. 5/8 to 3/4 of the power stroke. Your arrow is flexing slightly in this process but if the spine correctly matches the bow it's being shot out of this process is not erratic.

Phil I noticed you took off the cage and run it limb driven. I was thinking of doing that as well, are you getting any bounce back from the launcher? Less noise from the launcher hitting the bottom of the cage? Thanks, hope to hear from you if your able.

I will put the launcher back on for hunting. For 3D and general off season practice I prefer to have it off. As far as the limb driven attachment. I installed a Hamskea limb clamp to the bottom limb that has a spring on it so there is no bounce back.

Can I get the limb attachment from them? I don’t like the sticky pad. Thanks!

Phil have you used the AAE DOA rest that Aron has talked about and how he said he likes it better than the Hamskea Hybrid Hunter Pro? I have a QAD ultra rest that I have had for a couple years and I want to upgrade so I am deciding between the two the AAE DOA and hybrid hunter pro? As always Phil good info!!

Thoughts on the hybrid hunter vs the trinity hunter?

I like the hybrid hunter for most applications but the trinity is a step above the hybrid hunter from a stability/durability standpoint. Consider the Trinity a streamlined version of the original versa rest.

Just put one of these on my bow, but have a question. If you dont have a limb attachment piece what is the best way to attach it to the limb? It comes with the knot to thread the string through but was wondering if it would be better to tie a different knot?

  • @AlphaBowhunting

You should have received a black rubber pad that is supposed to attach to the lower or upper limb, depending on how you set it up. Your spring should be attached to the hammer on the new Hybrid pro's so you just have to loop it around the limb and the rubber piece. It shouldn't move but if you are concerned, almost any knot will work. I like an improved clinch knot

man guys will just buy anything..who the hell would want to hunt with the cable attached to the limb? in a hunting situation dealing with brush and other crap to snag or break it..what a joke...more screws,, springs and bells and whistles to break or foul up in the field..i guess most people dont think about this stuff like i do..

termite122 I have hunted with a rest cable hooked to my limb since 2010. Never once had it catch on anything. It actually sits between my bow and arrows attached to my quiver so it's really not exposed. These types of rests are actually outselling regular cable driven rests at my shop 3 to 1. I had the same opinions early in but not anymore

ive heard the same thing that alot of guys like em..im old school i guess..i will never forget blowing a shot on a 400in bull elk in montana because of some fancy sight with screws and springs and stuff all over and it malfunctioned and i never used it again..had the same issue with fancy rest when it snowed outside and the rest froze up costing me the biggest mtn lion i had ever seen before..etc etc etc if target shooting is what guys are into than you can have your friend doing pull ups on your stabilizer if u want and the worst that can happen is you miss the bullseye..i dont think people ever figure in how will there equipment perform in the elements of weather,,unless your just a target shooter...same with broadheads,,everyone talks expandables and cut radius and flight and speed blah blah blah,,what they should want to know is how the head performs on a marginal hit..thats what i wanna know...on hunts that are over 5-6000$ i just wont take that chance ever again with too many gadgets with too many moving parts..just my opinion as a bowhunter..

I would agree with you on products that were just coming out 10-12 years ago, but these systems today are bullet proof. If you are paying for the best stuff out there, not only are you going to get the best stuff, but it’s field tested and going to work. Do your research and product test if that’s what you like. If not.... just stick to what you like that’s the best part about bow hunting. There’s no rules on having this stuff vs not having this stuff
