    Authentic pho is quite mild and easy to eat. That’s why it became the face of Vietnamese food. Jeremy’s quote about the herbs and spices aren’t exactly right. It is the hallmark of simplicity in cuisine.

    Having lived in bonnie Scotland, I can testify that not everything is deep fried - but the few things that aren't, are all 'haggis-flavoured'. And no, haggis-flavoured toffee caramel ice cream is NOT something I ever wish to try again!

    ⁠@@TailsFan369no2so for this particular challenge they had to cook their meal using only what they could find at a particular petroleum station they’d stopped at. And since most petrol stations are _not_ fully stocked supermarkets, they had a limited selection. The only meat available was on prepackaged sandwiches, and the only oil they had wasn’t vegetable cooking oil, but *engine* oil. So whilst the others are being particularly daft with swapping sponge for bread and using crisps as a base, Jeremy went ham: use flowers as vegetables etc.
