Disclaimer: At the time of recording this video, I had moved the Hammers + Waves library from the original file location. As a result, the load-in times displayed in this video are slower than the actual load-in times for the VST. Be sure to check out a few other videos on the product to get a better idea of what to expect 😁

Si-lest is the appropriate pronunciation I believe. Nice review. I have Piano Colors and it works really well beheath just about any piano or Rhodes patch. It's a great library.

Thank you for this video Zach. I never commented on your videos, but I thought I should because this made me really excited to try hammer + waves, and also piano colors. Also, I want to leave some information. If you live in the US, not only can you get hammers + waves at the introduction price, but you can also pay it in 4 installments, making it even easier to buy for the people on a budget, like me. Unfortunately, I am not in the us, and I am also on a budget, so it looks like I will miss this fantastic deal. But even for people like me, there's still hope: according to skybox audio's support department, they plan on releasing smaller individual bundles in the future. I don't know what this means exactly, but at least I know I might get my hands on this eventually. I know I'll be keeping my eyes on their news letter....

this is the easiest piano plugin to get a modern piano sound very quickly! I hesitated to buy but this is by far the best plugin i think i have.

I can’t fully speak to either of these because I’m just testing H+W now and haven’t read up on these too much but one thing I don’t love about H+W is that the effects seem to feel like their on another layer a lot of times, and the presets tend to be fairly unusable for standard music production. Not that they don’t sound great, because they’re all good, but it’s a very cinematic/experimental instrument. And when comparing the two in this video, I’m pretty sure all of the different core sounds in Piano Colors are all organic samples, where as I think most of the sounds in H+W are heavily processed? Although I’m not positive, so correct me if I’m wrong about that! But it’s about 10GB per group. Acoustic, Electric etc. And each group has 2 or more instruments so I don’t see how they could have physically created all these sounds and then sampled them individually and still squeeze it all into 3-5 GB per instrument. There’s definitely effects in Piano Colors but it’s one instrument that’s has been physically modified pre-sampling and then effects are added in the plugin. Which is why it’s 30GB for the one instrument haha. So with that being said H+W can get a bit over processed sounding from what I’ve heard so far and fits more into the Resampled catergory than a deep sample library thing. Again not saying it doesn’t sound good, because it’s awesome, but it might be useful to know that first if people are expecting it to be another Keyscape or something! Thanks for the info depth video, Cheers!
