Going out to qualify last on the lineup at Lucas Oil Midwest Late Models night one Harvest Hustle didn’t start the night out right at Sycamore Speedway's large quarter mile dirt race track in Northern Illinois.
Jason qualified well enough to start mid-pack in a tough heat won by Chad Simpson, followed by Frank Heckenast, Dennis Erb third and Jason making it to fourth.
On the very cold night in Northern, IL team Feger rolled out eleventh for the forty lap MLRA event. Consistently pounding the top of the dirt track, Jason worked his way up to third behind Chad Simpson (leading) and Brian Shirley who was running in second.
“That top was pretty brutal up there tonight,” commented Feger. “It took me a while to get it figured out but once we did we were pretty decent. I probably should have just got down in front of Brian once I got in front of him but it was a pretty good race, I didn’t care if I was second or third I was trying to do what I could do to battle Chad for the lead but it didn’t work out tonight. Tomorrow we’ve just got to qualify better and put on a better effort in the heat race so we can start towards the front and have a little more.”
Jason passed Brian for second, but kept on crushing the cushion trying to get to the lead. Simpson won, Shirley, Feger third, followed by Heckenast and Erb.
