So, Lincoln became lord of the village by owning all the factories. Great social commentary 😂 Nice to see Mike back

44:00 - The milestone is awarded to the person who builds the building, not to the first person to produce the refined product. Rulebook page 10.

I think this game completely refines the concept of pick and delivery and gives it a fresh new perspective to it. Fantastic game

This was the game that had my nose pressed up against the window glass waiting for it to come. Now, I'm waiting for the new expansion, Hamlet: by the Lake. The coin payment for working does seem strange, giving the same amount no matter the number of cubes, [reminds me of a Biblical story with a similar theme], but it works for this game. So glad to see you playing this. Hope YOU had fun.🙂

I try to look at it as "as long as the job is done, you are getting paid. No matter how hard you worked or how long it took you, the finish product is the same, thus your pay is the same". Then it actually makes sense :D

@55:43 Mike said the donkey had to go on church or adjacent. I believe the donkey can go to any building that is accessible to the church by the road

I'm gonna need NP back in the other chair. It's messing with my mind. 😂 Also. The graphics are detailed and distinct on those tiles. Yay!

50:53: Nikki saying that "holes" in the map often can't get filled, and it drives her bonkers:... check out the Lakes expansion (coming to KS next week), as that adds lake tiles that fill those gaps. :)

Love seeing Mike again. As far as the game...I've seen this one a few times in videos...it looks like it would be my type of game, but the density of rules turns me off a bit. By the time the game starts, I've already forgotten rules explained at the beginning. It's not the teach, it's just a game that has a lot going on, there's a lot to wrap my head around. This seems like another game I'd rather play in digital form...the security of having the rules enforced and preventing people from misplaying is the primary reason. The game has an interesting concept. Players are communally building the hamlet/board, but it's not a co-operative game, so they are doing work, generating resources, claiming and placing new tiles, possibly at cross-purposes and blocking each other (intentional or not); instead of having players building their own tile tableau. I like that, it makes the game nicely competitive. Love the theme as well.

I did enjoy watching the game, and after seeing you play through the game, I do find it less confusing...still has a lot of moving parts, but I'm starting to come around on enjoying the game mechanisms in action.

@@msmilder25 Games have gotten more complicated over time. It's unclear if the rules teach could be shortened without the game going through more development and tuning.

Did you guys not have the little round chits that represented buildings? That's how you're supposed to draw them randomly, you draw from a bag of identical round chits instead of a bag of oddly shaped tiles...

As far as I know, those are only in the KS edition; we try to only play with the retail version in the show so everyone can understand what they're getting when buying it today.

They had the option of taking tiles everytime they visited the town hall but neither did during the first few turns. This probably would have sped up the game and add additional options for turns.

The designer said that he’s modifying the graphic design for the next Kickstarter (and providing replacements). You should try it out for yourself to see if you’d rather wait.

I played this game at the UKGE. Really enjoyed the gameplay but all 4 of us came out saying that the tiles should be bigger, like 50% at least! Most of us had a bot of eye strain after a whole game and it put us off from buying it. If they did make the tiles bigger I'd consider picking this up!

I really wanted to like this game. My group was excited to get our pledge. Fell flat instantly and no one enjoyed it. Very disappointed. Main issue wqs everything should be at least 50% bigger. Hard to read etc. And cumbersome rules
