Good review of radio go boxes - always interesting to see what folks have done. One comment about LiFePO4 Battery Voltages - offerings from different vendors are not really different voltages. They are all charged to and discharged to the same range of voltages within the same chemistry. Purchase decisions should not be biased by voltage claims. The Bioenno power batteries put out 90% of their energy in the 13 to 12.5 volt range, the same as other LiFePO4 packs. They are one of the very few manufacturers who have hams on staff and understand ham radio needs and RFI concerns. Enjoy! 73 de w6akb

Stake the tripod legs down with tent stakes or 12 inch nails. You could probably get away with some tarred bank line tied to each stake, then simply wrap it around a given leg, make thew taut and drive the stakes into the ground. Could also drill holes for some 1/4" eye screws with a wingnut securing them. Tie line to each eye screw, tie other end to stake/nail and viola.

Classic problem of trying to put everything in one box. Recommend placing both HF, VHF/UHF radios and tuner in the box with all the in and out connectors for power and antenna. Keep your power source external as well as your laptop which can easily be put in a backpack. Its the radios that need the most protection. So keep them in the box. It will also allow your foot print to be smaller when you have to operate. Just my two cents. 73s

Just found your video. Well done. Got a couple of good ideas. His statement on the voltage of Bioenno batteries, btw, is incorrect. At full charge they run 13.4 volts and will drop down to about 12.7 when 90% discharged. I own two of them. Same should be true, however, for almost all brands of LFP "12 volt" batteries.

I have similar results with my 20 ah Bioenno. I turned off my power supply half way through the video and the voltage started at 13.5 and settled down at 13.1 with two radios on receive.
