Had tears in my eyes listening to your mother talk, I cooked lots with my grandmother ( mothers mom ) she was from Ukraine and my grandfather was from Poland, she would talk and explain the whole process every time eventhough I had helped her dozens of times I just loved to hear her voice. On my dads side it was the opposite with a little chezk and Austrian thrown in. I make mine a little different with bacon but no carrots, sometimes I put in ground pork or beef, i also leave my rice a bit on the tough side so it sucks up the juice. We use tomatoe or clamato juice depending on which is on sale, I buy 2 sacks of cabbage in early fall, 1 I blanch and freese for cabbage rolls (Holopchi) and the other I shred for sauerkraut (Capoosta). When I'm done with rolling (filling; rice, bacon, onion, garlic, salt, pepper) into the cabbage I cover them with the tomato juice so they are submerged and put bacon rind on top then pour tomato soup over top. I usually cook at 350 for 2.5 to 3 hours or until the center is 180° and cabbage is soft. Thank you for the memories, i just made some with my neighbor for Easter Sunday.

Hello, I am from Guatemala. We eat cabbage in soups and as a dressing in our own version of hot dog (toast bread over charcoal, guacamole, mustard, we named Shucos -since those are street food this words mean filthy food, as a kind of joke-. I try Yeats ago a similar dish at Nicaragua, street food is known as Fritanga (they cook in a griddle meat, chorizo, eggs, cheese, lot of things. I try a very delicious dish named Niño dormido (Sleeping child, literal translate); is a cabbage leaf stuffed with rice and meat fried on the grill next to the fat of everything else, wonderfull. The Halupki remans me my experience of Nicaragua. You are doing a very nice job, we do not know your culture and traditions, thank you for kindness. Happy holidays!

I love this! I've been looking at cabbage roll recipes all over KZread and this is by far my favorite. Your mom reminds me of my ex's mom, her food was my first introduction to Ukrainian food and I loved it so much, I miss her cooking every day (probably more than I miss my ex, haha!) and now I want to learn some of the dishes that I've been craving lately! I love the warmth and generous hearts of Ukrainian families. At times I feel a connection to your culture because they're so similar to Hispanic culture (I grew up in a Puerto Rican household) in a lot of ways. Valuing spending time together with good food is one of them, and something I hold dear to my heart

This is interesting. My family immigrated to the US from Slovakia, and my great grandmother passed down her family recipe for halupki to us (I grew up across the street from her), but we never put onions in ours. Or carrots. Just meat (ground beef) and rice, plus the cabbage leaves, of course, and we cooked it in tomato soup. It's really interesting to see a Ukrainian version from a much more recent immigrant family.

I love this so much. You guys are like the most wholesome people, a true testament to why immigrants are truly what makes America Great! Big tight family that is full of love! An example to what Americans should strive to be!
Looks delicious! My wife and I really enjoy your videos cooking with your mom. Such a blessing for you to be able to learn from her and grateful you also share with us. Take care!
Goon squad is the best family channel. They are down to earth people love all of them. Paps

I love that everything is comfortable and laid back, Mama is so comfortable in kitchen like she said lots of practice. 😀🥰
Wow so much beauty in the kitchen of course the food will be great.
You guys really should write out the recipe in the description. Would help out a lot of people. But anyways. I am going to try this. Looks amazing.
Daughter pretty just as her mother 😁 Those are some quality genes 🤗
I have enjoyed watching this! I'm going to try them next week. Thank you very much!
Great video guy’s , reminds me of my Hungarian grandmother, great looking food. Love watching. Keep them coming, and Thank you for sharing.
Cette recette delicious ❤👍👍👍👍💯
Oh, those look good! We'll try them out this weekend.
I had galupsi in my trips to Kharkiv and Donetsk . Your mother cooks with very good ingredients. Avocado oil is rated well, Chosen was rated #1 in controlled studies.
That looks so delicious. Your mom needs to open a food truck. With food like that she'll sell out before noon for sure. I enjoyed this video a lot, it's a lost art when kids don't learn to cook from their moms and dads. Stay safe. Aloha from Kansas
Fabulous video - nice to cook together and learn your Mom's secrets - she's a real pro at tucking in the ends of the cabbage - I guess with practice it gets easier - cheers from Canada
Love cabbage rolls will try this way. Looks delish
Wow, очень ВКУСНО!!!!!!!
I make my grandmothers Ukrainian cabbage rolls with our family recipe it is pretty close to this one.. great video I wish she taught us the language she said that we did not need to know the language which is sad nowadays.. Grandmother was Ukrainian and Grandfather was Hungarian and neither taught the language
Another great cook,looks very good
That is awesome. 👍👍👍
Looks really good, healthy too!
I love cabbage rolls reminds me of my Babusya
Looks amazing. So yummy.
Looks delicious, can't wait to try to make it
My wife is watching this with me and wishing she had the chance to learn cooking from her Mom like this. Thank you for sharing

Great job Ladys !!!!!!
Great video! Halupki is one of my favorite comfort foods. I love Mama , daughter interaction.
I agree, my mom always browned up the meat up to carmelize it for better flavor.
Ukraine is neighbour with Romania , we make the cabbage rolls similar with this, and we call them " sarmale " - for stuffing we put rice and grounded pork meat ,spiced with salt ,peper , then tomatos sos above...very good with sourcream, polenta and some hot pepper
Бульон после жарки можно не выкидывать а просто добавить его в томатный сок для заливки.
My Mother made these once when I was a kid, I know now why it was only once :) Thank you both for bringing back a fond memory for me. I hope to make this one day soon, my Brother and I are thinking about it, might be this weekend! Thank you again!
Благословение от Бога к вам.
Man that food looked so good. Thank you for all the content you post on this channel.

This has seriously upped my stuffed cabbage game, and using the knife on the jar was a great technique. Thanks. Hope your loved ones are safe.
Amen, women that can cook
You do know that we all LOVE your mom!!
Love everything about this family. Sitting here watching this video and I'm so hungry now. Thanks for sharing
My mom in law when she didn’t have time would sometimes make lazy man cabbage rolls. Just cut up the cabbage and mix it all together. Cook it same as rolled ones. Fantastic. Miss her every day.
Wow, I’ve got to get my wife to make some . They look awesome.
