I was just thinking about Eton being one of the most fearful mustangs I have watched being gentle, then a voice mentioned his name!! I recognized it as Elisa's voice and put 2 and 2 together. I've seen you on her more recent videos, and she's mentioned she has students training mustangs. I now realize you are one of them. How fabulous to be working and training with her. I look forward to watching your journey. I live vicariously through a few equestrian channels - Elisa's, Steve Young Horsemanship, and now yours. Thank you.

I would not have thought to do it "The Wallace Way"(love that name btw lol)but I can totally understand after seeing it why it works---it changes the type of pressure from oppositional to directional in a way that neutralizes their attempt at bolting---never giving them the space(or release) that a bolt seeks to do, as well as becoming part of that movement with them. It is wild to see the change in energy when you start moving with him that way. So cool to see the learning process!

Its very interesting, so different to what I've been taught but it seems to work quite well! Any time I can teach a horse without a lot of force/hard pressure is a win in my book

Oh he’s so pretty !! I’m wondering if you should bring something for your safety since he’s shown signs of possible aggression? I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ no shade meant was just wondering is all and you know what your doing !! And great session! He’s trying so hard and first touch already !! Oh he’s going to be big fun for you ! I can’t wait to watch his progress!! What a cool horse !!

I've been charged by a few different mustangs and I find it's quicker for me to throw up my arms to scare them off than raise a stick or flag at them. All it takes is raising my arms defensively and they back off. Though I suppose some mustangs, if they are really aggressive and aren't reactive enough to be scared away that easily, it would be a good idea to carry a stick. But I haven't had any that bad come fresh out of the wild. Ironically the mustangs that have made me feel the most in danger were messed with by other people first 😅 And no worries, I am always open to answering questions! Thank you! I am really excited about him, you're right he does try so hard!

coming over from elisa's channel and patreon - very interesting. love what you explained about why you were doing what you were doing - re the not wanting to stress him out, but in this situation it being necessary because the negative implications of essentially rewarding what happened with bolting and running would be worse long term. it definitely made me a bit uncomfortable to watch in the moment, but after taking some time to process, definitely see and understand what you mean! thank you for taking the time to post and explain what was happening and why. appreciate it! but also are your hands not trashed from holding on? hope you're all doing okay.

Thank you, I'm glad you found my channel!! I totally understand feeling uncomfortable watching the halter breaking process, it isn't always easy for me to do it. I find it's one of those things you have to get through the ugly part in one session, and if you do a good enough job, bolting/refusing to lead/tying issues etc never become a problem. I'm glad my narration helped! I don't like wearing gloves so my hands are calloused after gentling so many mustangs I don't feel rope burn anymore 😂 It also helps knowing when to let the rope slide through my hands and when to hold tight. If I know I can't hold the horse back, I loosen my grip so I don't get rope burn. There's an art to it, lol
