    Ok question of the day: how many days of ground work in the saddle did you do before putting your first ride on her?

  • @cnahorses

    @cnahorses

    7 ай бұрын

    It depends on the horse but even if someone sends me a horse that is started under saddle I go back to ground work for at least 5 days to go through all my “safety checks” - I learned the hard way to never trust or assume a horse is broke and not scared. I REALLY make a horse prove to me that they won’t hurt me - “too many hero’s in the graveyard”

  • @cnahorses

    @cnahorses

    7 ай бұрын

    Good question! NO - I was not expecting a buck at all. I had saddled Sundance at least 4 times before this and he never offered to buck. Now I was prepared for a spookin- Sundance gets spooked easy and runs from that. That is why it is really important to have a good one rein stop 👍😊

    Hi Amry, I've been gone for about 3 weeks or so, taking care of my poor little 89 year old Mama who is in a care center, trying to recoup from a surgery. I can't tell you how much I've missed watching you. Everything looks like it's going so well for you, which makes me so happy 😊. I'm loving playing catch up with all your video's! All the youngsters look amazing. That's so awesome of you to take in that stray pup, he looks like he's gonna fit right in at C&A Horses. Loved this video mainly because I simply love the fact that your so honest about training. Most trainers won't share the "oopsies" and you do. Let's face it, training is not all sunshine and rainbows. Of course everything is not always going to go perfectly, you have such beautiful character Amry, one more reason your my favorite. Love and Blessings to you always ❤ 🙌 Jennifer

    I’m new, and I love watching Amry ride and train. I found this channel thru “The Farm on Route 66”! When I was a kid my dad would take me to Babbitt Ranch, Dave Blair’s Ranch, the Hat Ranch and a couple more. He was always asked to help with round ups, branding and other stuff around the ranches. I learned how to ride and help with round ups as I got older. I would have loved to own a ranch but that wasn’t in my cards! Great video Amry……. many Blessings….🥰

    Not on each horse but I do keep notes of each horse I rode that day and a small bit of what I did with them. Especially important to keep note of dates so you can look back to see when things happened. For example the first ride, new set of shoes, or someone feeling sore .... etc ☺️

  • @cnahorses

    Thank you!! I don't talk a lot - if anything I talk more to myself or in my head. Horses don't speak English - they speak body language. I try to be very clear with body language and the cues I use. The commentating is more for the person in my opinion ☺️
